GUILTY Canada - Jasmine Lovett, mid 20s, and daughter, 2, Calgary, 16 April 2019 *Arrest*

Vehicles under 1000 pounds with three or more low pressure tires are allowed between December 1 and April 30. Quads, therefore, are allowed in the winter months.

This area is known for its ruggedness and lawlessness. People do go off trail, in non-public designated lands, like to the gravel pit.

I think many people who live in the area must be scratching their heads that the McLean Creek area is not being searched. Of all the places that a person from the city who likes to shoot guns and drink beer might go, this is it.

If a crime scene is there, it will surely be destroyed come May Long. Time is running out. More snow is coming this weekend.

He only had his Mercedes SUV, and no reports of a trailer or a quad. It's certainly a possibility, but I'm thinking there was less effort into disposing of bodies.

Maybe he doesn't have a guilty conscience. :/

I think that one of the newspapers should offer him a couple cases of beer in exchange for a longer interview. That might clear things up nicely.

If he is guilty and he doesn't have a guilty conscience, then he has antisocial personality disorder, meaning he mimics emotions and behaviors. Maybe that's why he's so eager to speak freely - he is confident that he can keep his story straight, and he is acting as he believes an innocent person would act.

Police are searching a specific property. Was there a quad on that property? No one is saying the PS towed a quad out there.

If the PS did go on a picnic, a picnic area might be a place to look. McLean Creek and the falls area have picnic tables. Maybe a picnic where three went in, and one came out.

The police may also have received a tip about that property, combined with cell data and vehicle locator data. The property may be a location with previous known connections to him. The amount of time the vehicle and phone spent in that location is likely why the search is focused there. Access to a quad could change things.

Agreed. And having to get rid of possibly 2 bodies plus whatever evidence, plus mulch. In such a scenario, how far can a person walk and carry all that? I can't envision him trekking too far into the wilderness with such a load. Of course, why else would he go into an unpopulated wilderness area unless he really wanted to hide something such as a body, or two.

That's my thinking - too much to carry. I would expect him to drive to a place where no one typically stops, ideally out of sight of the road, walk a couple of hundred feet, get rid of evidence as quickly an efficiently as possible, and then leave the area.

I suppose that's something to keep in mind - did he hide his car while he was leaving and/or burning bodies? What if he took a day trip for a picnic, walked as far as one might with a 22 month old, and when no one else was around he murdered them. That might be the 2 hour window on the afternoon of April 18. Maybe he went back another time, leaving his phone at home (as suggested above), and burned the bodies in the middle of the night.

I wonder if he and his new girlfriend spent the night together at his or her place on Thursday night, or whether it was a casual date.

If he killed them on Thursday, April 18, I'm guessing he returned on Friday April 19 to burn the evidence or revisit the crime scene. Her bank card was used on April 18 - perhaps to buy mulch and something like lighter fluid? Was that before or after the 2 hour trip to the Bragg Creek area? Maybe he drove to Bragg Creek, left his phone under a tree, put the bodies in a different location, and retrieved the phone. Maybe he picked up mulch on his way home.

It's possible that he had spent a few months thinking about how to murder his wife and son, such as in a house fire, meaning his plan to get rid of bodies in the mountains might have been quite elaborate by the time he Jasmine was murdered ... and it sounds like he might have considered fire to destroy evidence.

Except, that doesn't make sense because she missed the family dinner on Tuesday, April 16, so she was most likely already deceased on Tuesday.

Does that mean that the April 18 trip was to visit the crime scene, maybe burn bodies?

That would mean that he had two dead bodies in his townhouse for 2-3 days. I wonder if he went to work at all that week. That suggests that he bought mulch on the morning of Thursday April 18, burned or checked on the bodies, and then went on a date with a new girlfriend.

I believe the family dinner she missed was April 23. That's when the family reported her missing. April 16 is the last day they most likely spoke with her.

Mother, daughter missing: Calgary police say suspect may have burned evidence

Aliyah Sanderson, 22-months old, and her mother Jasmine Lovett, 25, have not been seen since April 16 and were reported missing a week later after they failed to show up for a family dinner.

I wonder if they had cadavre dogs at the townhouse. Did anyone read about or see photos of dogs during police searches?

I believe the family dinner she missed was April 23. That's when the family reported her missing. April 16 is the last day they most likely spoke with her.

Thank you! I'm getting dates mixed up. Please add to or correct this information:

April 16 - last contact between Jasmine and family / friends
April 18 - Leeming in Bragg Creek area from 2:30 - 4:30 driving 2014 Mercedes SUV
April 18 - Jasmine's bank card used
April 18 - Leeming on date with new girlfriend
April 23 - Jasmine misses family dinner, reported missing to police
April 23 - Leeming fired
April 25 - 11 AM Leeming detained for questioning

Police closed in and he tried to run:

"Leeming’s next door neighbour, Vitaly, said he saw a handful of police officers enter the townhouse early Thursday morning. Then around 11 a.m., he heard yelling outside and saw officers point their weapons at a man trying to leave the home.

He tried to pull away from his garage. Two trucks blocked him with guns pointed at him,” said Vitaly. “They told him to move slowly and not to do anything.”

Maybe he wasn't expecting so many gates to be closed on the road to Elbow Falls, so he had to improvise. Every murder has something that goes wrong. Maybe that's the first time he went out to Elbow Falls when the weather was perfect and the roads were still closed.

If Plan A was to put them downriver from Elbow Falls, what would be Plan B?

Say "Jumpingpound" and the first thing that comes to mind is how many bodies have been dumped there over the years. I think this is what the people of Bragg Creek are referring to. There are quite a few on this list:

Cold Case Files - Royal Canadian Mounted Police

But it doesn't stop there.

Woman sentenced to two years for dumping man’s body in Kananaskis pond

Maybe, but maybe somewhere closer to Bragg Creek. What if he had a plan to throw them over the waterfall and pretend one fell while trying to save the other, but that plan went South with road closures or other visitors.

I've created an overlay with Elbow Falls, McLean Creek, Fullerton Loop trails and gate closures.

Like vultures in a desert, there will eventually be animal activity at the bodies. Many animals in the Kananaskis area could be tagged, especially wolves and very likely bears too. I still think that tracking the animals will go a long way towards finding the bodies - burned or otherwise.

It seems to me from your map and from what LE have stated that they are looking in Fullerton Loop area and also Elbow Falls. Also mentioned Highway 66. These 2 locations are along 66, so would this road is not closed or gated, correct? Maybe some walking involved if he stopped there. But the falls look like they are accessible from the main highway. (66)

From condo in Cranston to Elbow Falls and Fullerton Loop/ Map
BBM

Officers want to hear from anyone who saw a man in his 30s driving a grey, luxury SUV in the East Kananaskis area between April 16 and 20, specifically around Fullerton Loop and Elbow Falls between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on April 18.

I thought that East Kananaskis meant North of Fullerton Loop, but now I think it must mean McLean's Creek area. It looks like the road after Elbow Falls is normally closed until May 14. McLean's Creek road is normally closed until April 30. I think it's quite possible he did not expect road closures.

This map is from an article published April 26. Afterwards they mentioned Priddis, Bragg Creek and East Kananaskis. Below is the closed roads and trails map.
