Bumping for justice for Jeremy.

I wonder when we will get more information on this case? Next court appearance and such?

In Canada you often don't hear anything unless/until there's a trial :(

:D Glad to hear: Muhab Sultan drowning won't spur charges against Ottawa police.

It seems apparent SS (and possibly other family members of MS) tried to file a lawsuit against Ottawa police, blaming them for MS's death/suicide. Of course there would have been an investigation regardless, to set the record straight. IMO MS was likely the shooter in JC's death. He tried to kill two officers by trying to run them over with an unregistered car in Ottawa, then fled and drown himself in the river because he wasn't going back to jail for 25 years, for the murder of JC. He did not flee in fear of LE (wrongful conviction) as his father claims IMO. Once in the river, realizing he was not as great as he thought he was, the coward cried out for help to be saved but (un)fortunately LE were able to save him. God and Karma took care of business. There is no place in society or heaven for evil souls like MS. ALL MOO.

Ten days later, Sultan was stopped and questioned in the ByWard Market in downtown Ottawa, along with an associate, as he drove an unregistered vehicle, according to a report from the Ontario Special Investigations Unit released Friday.

In the news release, Martino said Sultan's death was the "product of his own misadventure … an ill-advised decision to enter the water in an effort to avoid police apprehension."

The SIU investigation included interviews with six residents and four witness officers, as well as police officers' notes.

A wanted fugitive accused of killing for an iPhone struck an Ottawa cop with a stolen car then led police on a wild chase before leaping into the Rideau River and drowning himself in a doomed bid to escape justice, the province’s police watchdog said Friday.

The Special Investigations Unit has cleared Ottawa cops in the June death of Muhab Sultanaly Sultan, who was suspected of fatally shooting a London, Ont., teen.

Caught at the wheel of a pilfered green Toyota, Sultan struck the cop and vamoosed.

Oops, should have read: LE were not able to save him.

Bumping for Jeremy and justice.

Today June 14th, marks the one year anniversary JC was murdered. Praying for his family to remain strong and that justice be served. IMO justice was served on Muhab in the Ottawa river, but the wheels of the justice in a court of law turn ever so slowly, therefore justice for Muhamed will take a while longer. JMHO.

The presiding judge has ruled there is enough evidence to go to trial on first degree murder charges against M Sail. Karma took care of the other accused. His fate was decided in the Ottawa river. MOO.

Two years ago. :( Has anyone heard anything about a trial on this case? The wheels of justice turn mighty slow. Praying for justice.

Haven't heard anything about him in a long time (I'm local) ..

CD already had climbed out of the dumpster behind the Shoppers Drug Mart when he heard the gunshots.

CD and a female friend were out in the early morning of June 14, 2015, to “dumpster dive” — rummage through large garbage bins behind various businesses — hoping to find treasures.

Instead, the London man — who calls himself “residentially challenged” — would be witness to a homicide that drew nationwide attention.

I have to wonder if Muhab spoke to his father or text him from another cell phone telling dear ol' dad he was involved in a shooting murder and was on the run. Did dear ol' dad encourage son to keep running or turn himself in? In an earlier report/video he messaged/spoke to dad and apparently dad believed his son was innocent. His father should have told his son to turn himself in and be a man. You do the crime, you do the time. Sounds like father was aiding and abetting, helping son escape justice by giving him money.

Perhaps things wouldn't have turned out the way they did if the F&%er hadn't sped away with JC clinging to his car door just wanting his cell phone back. There is a special place for Muhab and Mohamed and it's hell. One is there now and the other will eventually get there after many dreadful years behind bars. They are both guilty of JC death regardless who pulled the trigger. ALL MOO.

Sultan texted his father to “send me $300, please” and told him to put the money in the name of a person in Toronto. His father sent a message that he’d forwarded $400.

Another message informed his father that he had changed his phone number. “Don’t call it from your phone and don’t give it to Mama or anyone,” he wrote.

O’Brien also confirmed Google searches were found on the phone beginning when Sultan arrived in London on May 30, 2015.

Five hours after the shooting, Sultan searched for the London police service, some 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 and local news stories about the Cook homicide.

Searches on subsequent days included: how to make fake ID, how to make a fake passport, how to track a cellphone, the best apps to prevent tracking, if Facebook can be used by law enforcement and Jeremy Ryan Cook.

So both Muhab and Mohamed has a history of illegal gun purchases and possessions. SMH.

It was during the cross-examination of London police Sgt. Alan O’Brien, who was identifying maps and a Calgary police intercept of Sail buying a .40-calibre semi-automatic gun that defence lawyer Sharon Jeethan introduced Sultan’s messages.

Seen this coming..,defense blaming the shooting on the dead guy with a long list of criminal activity. Criminal activity stemming back to the age of thirteen. Too bad the 🤬🤬🤬 wasn't given a proper sentence in 2011 and he wouldn't have been out on the streets to partake in any further illegal activities including the murder of JC. At least he got karma in the end. No need to worry about him being out on the streets ever again to harm another innocent person.

Too bad the Crown couldn't bring forth Sail's long history of criminal activity also but they couldn't as it shows bad character and unrelated to this particular case. It is pretty apparent Sail is the shooter and murderer according to the evidence of the bullet casing found on the driver's seat, next to the centre console, the particular gun used ejects cartridge to the right and back which would correlate where the casing was found if passenger was aiming gun at victim through back window, the fact that it would be near impossible for the driver to discharge the gun according to the evidence that the bullet came into contact with something (back driver's side window) prior to entering JC's right shoulder as it exploded prior to hitting JC, leaving bullet fragments in his shoulder, shattering his collarbone. Not bad enough he seriously injured JC with the first shot but he deliberately shot him a second time in the chest causing massive hemorrhage and swift death. Having faith in the jurors that they will find this 🤬🤬🤬 guilty. Here's hoping the judge takes into account the 🤬🤬🤬's criminal pass and realize he is of no use to society and gives him 25 years.

And Sultan, it appears, is an easy long-time criminal at whom to point the finger.

For starters, he drowned in the Rideau River in Ottawa while trying to evade the police, 10 days after Cook was gunned down.

What he left behind was a paper trail of misery. The jury was told of his criminal past and Ottawa police reports of what happened in the moments before Sultan was lost in the river.

They read into evidence Sultan's extensive criminal record, which includes convictions for assault, robbery, trafficking cocaine, resisting arrest and numerous violations of bail convictions.

The defence also presented statements from Ottawa police officers about the day Sultan died trying to evade arrest.

While police were speaking with him about the car's registration it reversed suddenly, causing minor injuries to two officers. It then stopped and accelerated toward Const. Stephen Brown.

"I feared for my life," the officer's statement reads. "I tried to jump out of the way and with my arms still extended and gun pointed at the driver, my hands entered the open window of the driver as I got hit by the car."
