If JRN was in fear of someone, and she is in hiding, with all of the media attention, why hasn't she got a message to the police letting them know that she is safe, so they can stop wasting time looking for her because she is okay.

If she's okay wouldn't she want her mom to know that she is safe.

In my opinion something bad has happened to JRN, nothing I have read makes me think that she has voluntarily vanished.

If there is any truth to the mean x and someone is protecting her, then why won't they contact the police, the police are the ones that have the resources to protect JRN. As long as the "protector" person continues to be evasive with the police then they are making themselves look very suspicious because they haven't went to the police, like they are hiding something.

There can be many possible sides to this... it wouldn't be the first time a guy did something completely stupid to rescue the "damsel in distress". If the roommate is any indication, this could be a pattern of behaviour.

Not appearing in court for the custody hearing has it's possible consequences too, so creating a cover story before reappearing could be in the works.

He may also know nothing... just that he returned ID. We don't know that he didn't spend the night with CPS.

Or... the worst case scenario is at play, and this guy is involved.

This is what I'm getting from all of this conversation with AP's friend, just MOO, take it or leave it:

-according to AP's FB, this person is not his actual brother, but his 'bro' (friend)

-I get the impression that a few different parties know basically one small detail each, like this:

i)police know that AP found JRN's ID and handed it into police, with AP telling them he didn't know her, didn't see her, and we don't know if that was a month before her disappearance or after her disappearance

ii)AP's bro/friend, FG, knows that AP told him personally, only that: "He told me that he is protecting a girl and didnt want to tell me who."

iii)FG's younger brother told FG that AP had told him (the younger bro):

a) "He told my younger bro that he had a battle with a guy mistreating his girlfriend. The guy pulled out a knife at him."

b) "I know that hé told my younger bro that hé had a fight with a guy beating his girlfriend. Was it Jessica? I have no idea, he doesnt answer. I know that the guy pulled a knife at him."

c) "Antoine said that hé was waiting for the seatrain and witnessed the guy beating up a girl, which is perhaps Jessica"

-The rest seems to be just pure conjecture on FG's part (ie that it 'could be' someone in relation to Jessica that AP reportedly had a fight with after beating up on a girl and who subsequently drew a knife on him; that it 'could be' Jessica that AP was referring to when he said he was protecting a girl; that they 'could be' in hiding and 'could be' afraid for their security/safety;

-FG's only way to connect with AP is via FB msg'ing according to FG, and AP is not responding to him.

-I get the impression that it was FG that called police with the tip.. the tip being what AP had said to him and what AP had said to his younger brother... he could also have possibly been the one to provide the photograph to police which ended up being used in the media.. police were probably trying NOT to bring FG into it, trying to protect him from AP's possible wrath at having reported these things to police.. but then FG outted himself publicly.. and then was misunderstood.. and now he's run off (which I can't blame him).

-if the above is correct.. that would mean that AP had 3 kind of different pieces of perhaps one story to tell 3 different people (police, FG, and FG's younger brother) - just one little piece of the story for each of them.. and AP then becomes all defensive with police and refuses to come forward?

I am wondering, like OOTD, if AP did, one way or another, come to be with police last evening sometime.. because now there is much silence from both AP and police. They could be 'questioning' him as we sit here speculating.

In an earlier post, when we were talking about whether police could get access to the IP address from which AP was posting, it was discussed how it would be unlikely that FB would give it up to police, but that police would likely be able to get it from the albertapolicereport.ca website... but if AP was reporting VIA his FB account to that police website, then wouldn't it still be hidden within FB's records and inaccessible by police (much like how if a photograph comes from FB onto a different site, no details can be obtained from the photo, only FB has them?

Well that was quite a bit of development to wake up to. This case has me baffled. With all the different ways this case could go I just have no idea. Some cases are so cut and dry. This one is crazy! Either way I feel it's rapidly coming to a close. With all these people "talking" it's only a matter of time.

In order to access the page, he would've most likely clicked on the Alberta Police Report address, thus giving them the IP. They may not be able to get the comment IP because that is governed by FB, but they can cross reference the times of the posts and page clicks, and get a pretty clear idea...

When I read that post, what struck me was the wake up time. How great would that be?

Interesting.. so... I suppose we can take a good guess as to where Mr. P spent the night. Can't wait for an update.

Are we passing judgement on other members' sleep habits now? No *wonder* you're out in the backyard now.

Wellllll... dynamic IPs and cell phones play a part... it might not be easy to pinpoint an exact location. Public WiFi... Internet Cafes... can I borrow your phone... and don't forget proxy servers...

Also it took some time to read through all these posts and all those comments on the FB page lol.

That was envy... not so much after that whole hips and pregnancy post... more like sympathy now, but don't expect a fundraiser.

AP comments... gone.

Yet his name, the responses to his comments, and his pic still remain.. so he must not be in custody anyway.. still in hiding.. or.. showed up adn now released.. ?

Add-on: if he had shown up and been interviewed, and then released.. police would have, I'm sure, also removed his name/pic, wouldn't you think?

I know that the CPS removes their posts on their FB page as soon as they have located the person in question. Since their plea for information on this fellow is still there, it stands to reason that he hasn't come forward. They also will update with a message stating that the person has been found. They are usually VERY quick on following these proceedures.

It starts to take on a darker tone the longer someone avoids LE like this...

Yes this is true.

Sure does. An innocent person with nothing to hide, hides nothing. If he doesn't want his picture plastered all over the media, all he has to do is go in. They would quickly update the public to say he has been found... Problem solved.
