The mother reports on the Missing page that Antoine has come forward and is co-operating, however doesn't actually know Jess, and isn't involved with her disappearance. Other's have commented that he has been seen at her work place.... Hopefully the Police will break down the truth.

Deciding where to do the interview is usually made on visual appeal and technical considerations. To give the story more scope, they often do it outside. It provides neighbours a better chance to visualize where she lived than the bland walls of an apartment. It also has better lighting than a single camera indoors can provide. Getting "B" roll of the building and general surroundings is easier and more abundant outside.

I would still be curious if that is what the reporter suggested or if it was the roommate.

My bet is on the reporter for the reasons I mentioned... Those inside shots are frowned upon and add nothing to the story.

But more often than not we see the interviews on doorsteps and inside the home.

It depends on technical and story variables. If the inside is dark and bland, they will opt for an outdoor shot. If the want to add location B-roll to the story, they will show the house, complex or street. When writing the V/O for the story, you block out the shots, sometimes on-route. Often part of the interview is done in one setting and the subject moved, depending on their answers. Sometimes a reporter will even re-ask a question in a different location for scope. Usually, the pre-interview determines the answers that will likely be given, so the shots are staged to suit... For example - If the questions are focused on her vanishing when coming home, they shoot outside. If the questions are about her leaving her belongings behind, they would stage it sitting on her bed. It really is story driven.

IRT the statement analysis thing, if done on AP it would be difficult because *anything*/everything could be construed as 'language difference'.. but I do find it interesting in AP's latest 'comment' on the APR site when he says, ".. im the guy that would help you if you need too(l)..", with keyword being 'too'. But yet he says he didn't see JRN, didn't know JRN, had nothing to do with her disappearance.. so I guess he was hiding/protecting some *other* girl?

APR has taken his photograph down and provided this update, so it seems that AP *did* come forward/contact police rather than having been located by police:

UPDATE – The person wanted for more information has contacted police and is co-operating. As he is not wanted for a crime, we have removed his photo from APR and disabled the comments.

Quote from Calgary Police Service

“The man came forward to police and is cooperating with the investigation. He is not considered a suspect in this investigation and police appreciate his cooperation.”

The last person to comment on the Find Jessica FB page has some interesting/cryptic posts on his page and is friends with the same stripper (LF) that I have come across on various other peoples accounts. KS.

Stripper "friends" aren't necessarily friends... rather, it's primarily promotional. Fan pages. Marketing. A means to increase demand, increase turnout for your shows, and thus increase your show price. Merchandising as well...

Also interesting is that FG (the person commenting on behalf of AP, the man that CPS wanted to speak with) was added to the Help Find Jessica page over two weeks ago.

I don't quite know what to make of him (FG) - Even he admitted that he wasn't sure if the girl he thought AP could be with was Jessica.

They're FB friends. He also said LE knows his story... so we have to assume he told LE the same things... hiding girl... knife... and given the timing, probably before the press release.

Alberta is not exactly bilingual or a hub for French Canadians. My bet is they also knew each other in person, from back home.

(Empty your inbox once in a while!)
They both have Calgary Flames Logos on their FB pages. Highly likely... not a coincidence.

What I can't let go of was his need to stall... or to deny it publicly. If you didn't want to be found, don't do a thing. If you don't care about talking to LE, then it was as easy as using the contact information on the APR site. Why the downplaying publicly, and when the friend added to the accusations... why no denial there?

Maybe for the same reasons that the friends' in the car with JMB were not willing to cooperate with police. Young and foolish.

I wonder if at that time (when FG became a member of the Find Jessica group), that is when he made his report to police, and from then the police were trying privately to locate AP.. and when they got no results, that is when they decided to go public with his photo?

Also interesting is that FG (the person commenting on behalf of AP, the man that CPS wanted to speak with) was added to the Help Find Jessica page over two weeks ago.
