Those who know the Brossard mother say the last four months have been difficult. “Anxious, nervous and angry. It’s been very long,” says Sherry Wang, a close friend of the missing woman...

“At this point in time today we have not been able to establish a clear lead in the investigation,” says Mario Plante from the Longueuil Police Department.

In an effort to kickstart the case, detectives have put a new reward on the table: $20,000. Investigators have also produced a new video – in Mandarin.

" Cst. Celia Qhang, an officer of Chinese descent, has been put on the case to liaise between the force and Li’s relatives, and with the Chinese community in Brossard.

She is working the case full time, Plante said.

Qhang is the star of a 40-second, police-produced video in which she appeals directly to the Chinese community, in Mandarin, for help with the case. The video has French subtitles.

Police say Li’s husband has been collaborating in the investigation and that at this point, he is not suspect.

In July, Li’s sister and brother came to Canada from China to help with the search. Li also has family members in the United States and all are being kept abreast, either every day of every second day, of the measures police are taking.

Longueuil police has set up a command post in Brossard at the corner of Rome Blvd. and Stravinski Ave. in the hopes of collecting new leads to examine.

They are asking the public to call 911 as quickly as possible if they spot Li and her son. Anyone with information about the disappearance can call 450-463-7211."

Bumping for a Mom and her baby..
The husband is not a suspect in the case, wondering what could be of interest in Mont St Bruno?
Could there be a female jealous of the clever Jian, or perhaps wanted/needed, a baby boy?
imo, speculation, ect.

"In June, the backyard of the family home was dug up. In July, a phone call led police to Mont-St-Bruno.

Hong Hui Lu was not present at Thursday’s press conference.

Police say he’s collaborating with officials, but they told Global News he is not a suspect in the case."

"Longueuil police have received more than 100 tips from the public, they've searched the house and other locations such as Mont St. Bruno, they've met with over 100 neighbours, but so far they've come up with nothing.

"(What's) particular in this case, [the] crime scene does not reveal anything," said Assistant Director of Criminal Investigations Mario Plante.

"That's why we're not into a clear lead at this point in time."

Police and Sun Youth are announcing a new reward of $20,000 for information to find them. It's the largest amount ever offered in Quebec to find a missing person"

They've been gone for a year now, still no trace :( I live very close and it's such a family-friendly very low-crime area, it's crazy that they have not been found yet.

The police set up a command post last week (it was the one-year anniversary of their disappearance), I hope they got some good tips.

Quick translation:

The Police Service of Greater Longueuil (SPAL) are trying to find the woman of Brossard Chinese Jian Li Pin, 42, and her baby, then 6 months old, disappeared in mysterious circumstances since exactly one year.

As announced in Brossard Éclair's Wednesday edition, the SPAL installed this morning a command post at the corner of Sabourin and Stravinsky, and will remain there until 19:00, to gather information that could lead to solving this case.

A team of 19 police officers and investigators distributed hundreds of leaflets to motorists to inform the public that the reward of $ 20,000 by "Jeunesse au soleil" has been renewed. The team also carries out door-to-door with volunteers of the organization.

"We look for information to advance the investigation," the spokesman SPAL, agent Mark David, who points out that already this afternoon, several people were encountered.

This is the third command post installed by the SPAL, which is assisted in this investigation by the Sûreté du Québec and the RCMP.

Police in Longueuil does not have many clues in this case. Officially, it speaks of a disappearance, but the possibility that it is a criminal act is increasingly considered.

Jiang Li Ping and her baby were not found since April 30, 2014. This is the spouse of the woman who found the disappearance on his return to the family home at 14:30 that day.

What is most strange is that the woman did not bring any personal belongings with her, no money or credit cards.

In the months that followed the disappearance, the police searched thoroughly the Ping Jiang Li residence. The backyard has even been completely plowed in order to gather any clues, but without success.

Part of the Mont Saint-Bruno and the adjacent quarry were also scrutinized, but searches yielded nothing.

A video in Mandarin, subtitled in French, was even made to join the Asian community of Brossard.

"Longueuil police are setting up a command post today in their search for a missing woman and her child.

Jian Ping Li and her son, who was six months old at the time, disappeared exactly a year ago — on April 30, 2014.

Police are hopeful the command post, set up at the corner of Sabourin Crescent and Stravinski Avenue in Brossard from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m., will help lead to new clues in the case."

From this article, snippets of possibilities..

http://globalnews.ca/news/1466910/b...es-she-may-have-been-victim-of-violent-crime/

Could the disappearance have any connection to her brother's work back in China?

“When we heard they went missing we were devastated,” the missing woman’s brother Jian Jun Li told Global News.

“We’re very anxious.”

Li works as a police detective in central China and has taken a temporary leave from his job, using his skills here to find his Canadian sister."

Why does the mp's husband not want to give interviews, not only his wife is missing, but his little boy too!

"The missing woman’s husband, Hong Hui Lu, refused numerous requests for interviews from Global News".

Would this woman run and leave everything behind, maybe if she met somebody from there, or really, really hated the life she was living, imo.

“We even have assistance from the RCMP, the provincial police, Interpol for connections in mainland China,” says Cst. Mark David.

“There is a possibility Mrs. Li would have gone back to her home country.”

Bumping with this missed update from January 2017

[h=1]Police searching the home of Brossard woman who vanished in 2014[/h]
Longueuil police confirmed they were searching the home, along with a canine unit from the Ontario Provincial Police on Friday morning. The OPP canine unit apparently has one of the only canine units specialized in finding dead bodies, TVA Nouvelles reported.

Jian Ping Li, a 42-year-old mother of three children, left no note, leaving her bank cards and even her baby stroller behind when she disappeared on April 30, 2014. Neither she nor her baby, Xiao Feng Lu, who was six months old at the time, have been seen since.

She was last reported seen by her husband, Hong Hui Lu, when he left for work early in the morning that day. When he returned at 2:30 p.m., she was not in the house, he told police.

Her husband recently agreed to take a polygraph test, while his girlfriend, apparently, has refused to do the same, according to media reports.

A $20,000 reward has been offered for anyone with information leading to the discovery of Li.
