A young man who was the last person to see a missing B.C. teenager alive has been charged with sex offences against another girl.

Bowen Island resident Gavin Arnott, 22, is charged with sexual interference and possession of child for allegedly keeping illicit photographs of a 14-year-old on a cell phone and computer. He was arrested two weeks ago after allegedly threatening her.

The family of a missing teen believed to have been murdered on Bowen Island said they are shocked at reports that the girl’s ex-boyfriend has been charged with sex offences against another girl.

Bowen Island resident Gavin Arnott, 22, was the last person to see 17-year-old Jodi Henrickson alive after a house party on the island on June 20, 2009.

This guy is a real piece of work - what is a 22 year old man doing hanging out with a 14 year old? And oh yeah, he threatens her too? HMMM - it must be so frustrating for the police and her family to know that this guy is more then likely responsible for the disappearance of Jodi. I really think that there are people on Bowen Island that know exactly what happened and they should share what they know before another young woman is hurt or worse.

I cannot believe there is no closure in this case yet? And nothing I can find on GA charges. Anyone know what his charges are? Jail time I hope. Maybe then he will talk.

He was charged with "sex offences" - IIRC it had to do with having photos of a 14 yr old. I haven't seen anything in the local news since May when he was arrested for breach of his release conditions.

Thank you kmclaren. Nothing on these "sex offence" charges tho. What I mean is what was his sentence, anyone heard? Did he get jail time, probation, anything? Been looking but cannot find anything.

Jodi you need to be found, where are you? You're family needs to know Beautiful and the guilty need to be punished. Lord hear our prayers and bring answers.

Sudden appeal for help solving 2009 disappearance

For the first time since Jodi Henrickson went missing two years ago, police are distributing posters of the B.C. teenager in hopes of finding someone who may have information about what happened to her.

When asked why there is a sudden interest in finding new information, Sgt. Jennifer Pound of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team told CTV News, "We sometimes know that people have information that they think may be too small, but in cases such as this, there's no information too small."
