Maybe we'll hear something soon?

Yes, that seems to have led to new searches. That was the last news out, and it's been days... I do wish we could hear something more about these "new leads"...

RCMP chase leads on missing teen (Abridged by me)

Kerry Blackadar, North Shore News
Published: Wednesday, August 19, 2009

Squamish RCMP Cpl. Dave Ritchie is calling it "one of the more difficult cases."

Seventeen-year-old Jodi Henrickson was last seen on Saturday, June 20 and, close to a month later, the investigation remains wide open.

"We have no leads or anything to lead us down one direction," says Ritchie. " All avenues are open."

Today, Squamish RCMP say that nothing new has developed with the case.

"Your guess is as good as mine," says Ritchie. "It could be that she has run away, it could be that she was met by foul play -- we don't know, we're still investigating."

Several tips were generated after the press conference and the RCMP say they are now investigating multiple avenues and are hoping to get some direction soon.

Bowen Island remains the focus of the RCMP's investigative efforts, but other areas of the Lower Mainland are starting to be explored.

"There are many ways to leave the island undetected if you want to," Ritchie acknowledged Tuesday.

On Aug. 8, the RCMP re-scoured the island's beaches and dense forests with their dog team, but nothing came up.

"Our hope is to find her -- but, whether she is alive at this point or not, we don't know," says Ritchie.

I have seen runaway cases go years and end with reunion. But something in my gut says this is not a runaway situation.

So many unanswered questions...

I agree...I think she has been harmed and her ex-boyfriend and his family are hiding something. This just makes me so mad...hope I am so wrong.

Not sure if this was posted before but I saw this and wanted to share it. Good news that the dogs didn't find anything.

The Undercurrent has learned that cadaver-trained dogs from Washington State were used during an Aug. 8 search on Bowen for missing teen Jodi Henrickson.
On Wednesday the head of the Bowen RCMP detachment, Cpl. Don Southern, said that the animals did not find any clues and added that search teams have not been back to the island since.

ETA from same article:

Cpl. Dave Ritchie of the Squamish RCMP said on Thursday that they plan to do more searching with the dogs, but that they don’t have a date for that as yet.

Parents of missing teen Jodi Henrickson urge vigilance

BY REBECCA TEBRAKE, VANCOUVER SUNAUGUST 7, 2009

The parents of a 17-year-old who disappeared on Bowen Island nearly six weeks ago are urging the public to keep looking for their daughter.

“We feel she’s still on this island somewhere, so we’re out here again to let people know we’re looking for Jodi. She’s missing and we need to find her,” Nancy Henrickson said.

Police have been working tirelessly on the case but are getting frustrated, said Cpl. Dave Ritchie. “They feel Jodi is here, but they haven’t located her. It’s very hard investigating it when you can’t find her,” he said.

But the teen’s parents haven’t given up hope. They believe their daughter is out there, waiting to be found, possibly being held against her will.

“Jodi, if you’re out there and you can hear me sweetie, come home,” Bob Henrickson said during the news conference. “If you’re with somebody, be strong. We are looking for you, sweetie, and we are going to find you.”

I am glad her parents are speaking out and not giving up hope.

IMO: She is not coming home. Her bf did something that night.

I pray she is found.
