To add some context, Kamil (I also knew him as Patrick) had been studying wilderness survival for a long time. It is possible that he went out there to do just that, to be off the grid. My source tells me that he would have wanted to get away from people and civilization as much as possible so may have taken an inflatable raft across to the island (which we can see the closest island to where his vehicle was found is Beckwith Island.) It is my understanding that the searched the island from the air using infrared and did not find anything. He has done camping trips like this in the past for a couple weeks at a time but always communicated with his family and told them of trips he was planning. He does not have social media so unfortunately there is no way to see if there is any activity that way. A family member did check his home and did see that all his camping gear was gone which enforces the possibility of him having went out there for a camping trip. But it is unusual he did not notify anyone. His phone has been dead since March 30th.
I understand the police only have so many resources but it is unfortunate they have called off the search. He has to turn up somewhere.
