Id of Hopley led to Kienan's safe return and his ultimate arrest.

SAR called 9:10. neighbourhood inquiries 9:20.
by 11:00 additional resources called in.

RCMP called for resources early on: Kelona, forensic examination of residence was done at noon. At 6pm Hopley identified as suspect and Amber alert issued.

Just before 6 pm elevated hopely's status to suspect and that met the amber status. Alberta media covered it.

~ 10:00 this morning set up at crows nest bible camp area. Had been there the night before. found suspect there.

Looks like Hopley acted alone.

Did the dog find the suspect? The dog master and their dogs stayed there overnight and they were past their service time, checking old mining houses, and when they knocked on the door, the dog alerted and then was chased down.

If you call fleeing an attempt to resist arrest, then yes, he resisted arrest. Found in an abandoned cabin.

I thought they found him at the gravel pit, not the bible camp. Although they are very close together...

Where has Kienan been? This is part of the investigation and the charges that will be laid. INfo will come out as court proceedings begin.

the entire operation has been very extensive....the terrain, the area, from one end of the country to the other. tips from as far as ontario.

Tips were coming in from one end of the country to the other (Interior of BC to Ontario). Stayed to a plan and operational view of finding Kienan safely and then turning it into a further manhunt for Hopley.

Followed up on every tip that came in. The search started in Sparwood and worked out from there - it was an intelligence based search.
