WEST KELOWNA – Volunteers continue the search for a 72-year-old West Kelowna man who went missing from a residential care home last weekend.
Lawrence Hamilton was last seen leaving Lakeview Lodge around 3 p.m. March 25. An avid walker known to travel up to 70 km in a single day, he could be anywhere, and nearly 30 volunteers from Kelowna, West Kelowna, Vernon and Penticton have been combing the area.
A media release from Kelowna RCMP Cpl. Jesse O’Donaghey says members of the public can expect to see search and rescue volunteers actively searching through West Kelowna neighbourhoods and rural areas.
“RCMP have utilized both police service dogs and all-terrain vehicles to conduct ground searches in both the urban and rural areas of West Kelowna. RCMP Air Services along with a search and rescue aircraft have also supported the search from above,” he says.
Hamilton is described as a 72-year-old Caucasian male, approximately 6 feet tall, 177 pounds, with grey hair dyed brown and hazel eyes.
He was last seen wearing a dark blue puffy jacket, a pair of blue jeans, a lime green golf shirt, with a blue and green scarf, a pair of black gloves and a pair of beige shoes.
