Not sure about drugs with PB and KH.

I'm from and still live in Toronto--PB raped someone on my street before he was a murderer, and he lived not far from us at all, then. That case, I couldn't follow it closely. But I don't remember there being anything at all about recreational drugs.

Still lots of people do drugs and never come to this...

This is pure speculation on my part but this is how I saw/see the conflicting living arrangement in the press. Loretta looks for some roommates to help ease her costs. Why not take in a couple. As time goes on they become a liability and Loretta is not feeling that things are as they seem. Loretta spends more time at her boyfriends until she no longer wants to return to her own apt?

I'm so sorry to hear this awful news and am also regretful that I cast aspersions on the boyfriend on this board a few days ago. It is so hard to comprehend why people do these kinds of crimes, and I guess I was trying to imagine a more complex motive. It wasn't right of me.

I'm so confused by VH's court photo. If she confessed/said where LS was (which it seems like), it is so odd that she is gloating...and more material to submit for her Darwin Award nomination, she's obviously not concerned at all about tainting the jury pool--because that photo is going to be notorious and will literally haunt her for life, even if her crime doesn't.

With this being Murder 1, it isn't seeming to me like there's evidence that this wasn't just an argument that just escalated. I'm wondering how long this was premeditated for, and if perhaps they specifically targetted LS when they moved to Halifax and/or have done similar crimes elsewhere.

May LS rest in peace.

Very scary :scared: My Sis was in Scarborough at the time. I agree. Many drug users never move on to violence. I think the perfect storm "can" develop when one is already "cray cray" and they add drugs to their already demented minds.

There was mention of her being the prime caregiver to a younger sibling. I'm guessing that it was her younger sister who had started in BC a couple of months ago. I think she was subletting the extra bedroom and spending a lot of time at her boyfriend's place.

Several media sources have now confirmed that she was in fact pregnant.

Truly. Bizarre how they seem to find one another. I guess there are enough social networks out there and folks wandering about towns and cities they eventually find each other.

I don't think that can be confirmed until autopsy. That information came from family and, according to the boyfriend, Loretta had not yet had confirmatory blood tests.

I've been following Victoria's FB page and I see her friends are really lashing out at her. I can understand that as I went through the same thing a couple of years ago. My buddy, Rick, began dating the wife of an R.C.M.P. officer. Her marriage was falling apart and they were separated. She began seeing Rick, but through time she decided to mend fences with her husband and go back to him. She told friends she was ending it with Rick. The day she did, Rick snapped and stabbed her to death, then he stabbed himself. In his car. When the police found them, he was still alive, but died on the way to hospital. I told myself it had to be foul play. He wouldn't do this. Had to be her husband, anything to say my friend didn't do this. But he did. I was friends with his kid sister (still am), and when I got older, I became friends with him too. I drove to the funeral home for his wake, walked in and turned around and walked back out before I got to the viewing room. I just sent a card instead. Nothing against his family, I just couldn't stand to look at him knowing what he did. Victoria's friends are feeling the same emotions right now. God give them strength.
