Article with surveillance footage of Lyle on the 3rd.
More about the car
""They described the vehicle and gave a partial licence plate, but enough numbers to fit it with [the missing] vehicle, and that it was driving slowly in a particular area of town," he said.
He described the area in question as "the bowl," or central area of Prince George."

Where and why did they stop? I am assuming they had everything they could possibly need in their RV.Thanks, everything seems normal at that point. This is so sad.
Right! also, IIRC, I read that campers saw both the RV and SUV, but then the RV was moved to a different area, where it was found burning? Will have to go back and re-read some of the latest articles to see if I read correctly. Now that I know the car and RV were at the campground I have to wonder how far a perp would travel in that. That would be a big risk if they had harmed them.
The photo of where RV burned looks like it was dumped there.
There also was no answer when the RV door was knocked on. Makes me think the perp(s) were doing something criminal at that time.

Ruby, what do you have in mind when you say: "Makes me think the perp(s) were doing something criminal at that time."
You mean like smoking pot or doing other kind of drugs? Or do you think the McCanns were in there with the perps at the time?
I have a couple things I have been thinking.
1) Perp(s) were in the RV with McCanns and didn't want to be recognized.
2) Perp(s) were by themselves already having done something to McCanns and also didn't want to be seen.
3) They had McCanns in the woods and had harmed them at that point, and were disposing of them. ( I hate typing that )
4) RV was burned to destroy evidence of foul play.
We can now say with absolute certainty that the vehicle was here in Prince George, Constable Gary Godwin from the RCMP Prince George detachment said.
There have been no sightings of the couple themselves.
Thanks for answering RubyI too hate to allow my thoughts go in that direction
Your #3 made me think that besides searching the woods, perhaps LE should also search the lake itself?
#4 ITA that the RV was burned to destroy evidence, not too sure if of foul play, but most definitely to destroy evidence of themselves. I write themselves instead of himself/herself, because I believe there must have been more than one person involved, JMHO.
Mounties first received a tip the light green Hyundai Tucson was driving through Prince George, B.C., on July 13.
A couple who saw the SUV jotted down the licence number ZPK 289 and police said it was a match.
The couple reported the sighting to an RCMP detachment clerk, who didn't pass it along until the next day.
Now, police can't reach the pair who might have valuable information to share, Godwin said.
The latest tip, believed to be the most credible, was provided by a couple on July 13 at 2:00 p.m. in the Prince George detachment. As protocol, the tipsters provided their contact information.
“We haven’t been able to get back in touch with them... We would very much like to talk to them again,” Const. Godwin said.
All of the tipsters who came forward to police provided information on the vehicle but no description on who was driving the vehicle was provided, Const. Godwin confirmed.
Although police are not certain who was driving the vehicle, “If they [the McCanns] were headed to Abbotsford from Edson then you are going to come to Prince George,” Const. Godwin said.
Police are calling on the couple who came forward on July 13 to contact them for additional information.
