Deceased/Not Found Canada - Lyle, 78, & Marie McCann, 77, Alberta, 5 July 2010 #2 *T. Vader guilty*

And it appears from all the sightings of the SUV, that TV and or someone else, spent the better part of 14 days driving it. The McCann's where reported missing on the 10th of July, and that was a Saturday so the news likely didn't get out there too much until Monday the 12th, it appears that is when the one sighting was reported of the SUV in Prince George, (having seen it there on Thursday July 8th) . And reported closer to it's final hiding during the week of the 12th, and then finally found hiding in the cut line on the Friday 16th... Also interesting to note, TV was named a Person of Interest by the RCMP, on Thursday July 15th the day before the SUV was found. The RCMP must have first hand sightings of TV with the SUV or some other very strong evidence to name him as such, and hold fast to the statement that they believe he has knowledge of where the McCann's are.

Pretty quiet with the news articles. I wonder if the family is still conducting private searches for the McCann's?

http://picolio.auto123.com/art-images/50878/2006_Hyundai_Tucson_07.jpg/scale-484x363 This is a stock photo of 2006 SUV AWD. I looked at a movie clip of the rear end of the McCann Suv and didnt see this logo. I dont know how to copy a still frame otherwise I would have posted it for all to compare. So I would have to say it was not an AWD.

Zort, here is a screenshot I did of the McCann's SUV so we can compare with that picture. I believe your observation is correct, that it's not a 4WD (MOO).

BBM: Oh, dear. Someone here at WS had worried way back when, that they did not search Minnow Lake or the campground enough. Now LE is back there.

I wonder if LE has some sort of forensic evidence from the SUV indicating access to water? I doubt the McCann's themselves would have been near any lakes etc. The mud caked on the SUV may have indicated something.
Yes Wondergirl, some of us did wonder about that way back in thread #1. Here more screenshots that show the condition in which the McCanns' SUV was found:

Thanks Hazel for the screen shots.

The dirt & mud on the SUV could have been picked up on any gravel road as the weather was wet at that time. However the scrapes indicate contact with heavy brush in an off-road area. Assuming the SUV is not 4WD then the travelled area would be not too deep into the back country and likely fairly near road access. The perps would not want to risk getting stuck and having to hike out. Of course the scrapes may simply be a result of the final hiding spot of the SUV and if so readily detected by LE by examining the brush where the car was hidden..

Zort, I'm not so sure THAT amount of mud would be picked up from the gravel road. It almost appears to have 2 layers of dirt, the caked on bit on the bottom being heavier, than the top part of the mudline. The SUV appears to have been driven off road to me, if not submerged in some water. That is ALOT of mud, IMO.

Kind of looks the way rig workers' trucks do when they return from the bush.

If TV used the SUV would there not be his DNA in it from lost hair etc. Is it possible the SUV was not used and just dumped (unhooked) from the motorhome in the bush. If you burnt the MH to cover your tracks ,why not burn the SUV?? I find that odd.

The SUV might contain certain DNA but maybe wouldn't need to be destroyed unless there was evidence of a homicide. The RV may have contained evidence of homicide, and therefore the perp(s) burned it to destroy evidence.

Big difference between a conviction for auto theft compared to one for first degree murder.

Family members searching for Lyle and Marie McCann have spoken with landowners, through a contact in the forestry service, about installing signs advertising a $60,000 reward available to anyone who assists police in solving the disappearance of the St. Albert couple.

Bret McCann said, while his family have been actively searching for any sign of his parents for the past four weeks, Thanksgiving was a particularly tough time to have Lyle and Marie McCann missing.

“My mom always hosted [Thanksgiving dinner]; she’d put on a big dinner for us all,” said McCann, remembering happier times. “We had a big dinner at my place and my sister and my brother and their kids were there, but they certainly were missed.”

McCann explained the new signs aren’t just there to bring attention of drivers to the story of his parents’ disappearance, it’s also to deliver a message to a subculture of people who live in the sparsely populated region, east of Edson.

“We want to keep this in the public eye so we’re investigating the cost of putting up signs along Highway 16 promoting the reward,” he said.

The family also continues to search the region on all-terrain vehicles to see if they can collect evidence for police, who can’t cover every square kilometre of the ample Crown land in the area where his parents went missing.

“My uncle and my cousins were out near the Nojack area on Sunday and Monday,” McCann said on Tuesday. “They plan to continue until the snow flies.”

He said that the search has come up with items that look suspicious, which were then forwarded to the RCMP for analysis.

The St Albert couple went missing in early July and if the RCMP members looking for them are any closer to an answer, they aren't saying.

The number of "friends" on the McCann family's "Help us find our parents" Facebook page is closing in on 44,000. The mine rescue in Chile encouraged dozens of people to post messages of encouragement to the McCann family and friends.

"Last night as I followed the Chilean miners ... I kept returning to thoughts of your family. I keep hoping that when you find some answers, that the relief will be as welcome as you deserve." writes one poster, sharing the sentiments of many.

"Please God we have witnessed one miracle today from Chile - we would like another one for the McCann's.", writes another.

Bret McCann's wife, Mary-Ann, replies for the family.

"I really needed to hear today that there are many of you that are holding on to the hope and faith with us. I too, believe in Miracles and hope today we will have one." (EM, ccg)

I am very suspicious that due to the age, geography and circumstance of missing senior May Millings from the Jasper area, that the McCann's disappearance is tied in somehow.

It could even be someone trying to help out Vader, and show that Vader didn't have anything to do with the McCann's, since May went missing while Vader was in jail.

Anything is possible.

From what the fisherman said, it would appear there is someone else involved other than Vader. Could even be more than two, and a few more in the know, JMHO.

Where are the McCann's??? :(

I have no idea who did it all I see is Vader was the best suspect in the area so they moved on it. Probably a good move. I just worry that ther is still someone else out there.
Anyways
I had an interesting experience on the Yellowhead this summer. I was waved over by two young pretty girls, they were dressed to attract some attention. It was about 06:00 in the morning. Now they had two cars and both cars were out of gas. They ran out of gas at the same time , same place on the hiway??? I asked them if they had a cell phone and could call a friend for help as I had no jerry can. They said both their cell phones batteries were dead (both of them)?? I said I could take them to a service station but they didnt want that??? I saw someone layng down in the back seat of one of the cars, the door was open into the ditch and I could see a guys size feet sticking out of the door. Anyways I did not get out and just offered them a ride and left. The more I think of it , it was very strange.

WELCOME Darth720!
That was very strange indeed. Two cars running out of gas at the exact same spot?

Seems they were expecting you to get out of you car; otherwise, why would they wave at you if they didn't ask for your cellphone or a ride to the gas station?

I think you should notify LE, you never know how this incident could be attached to something else.
