GUILTY Canada - Man, 26, beaten, tortured, starved, Regina, Sask, 16 April 2010

It really frightens me that some of this monster's victims didn't live to tell the tale. If there's three, there's probably more.

I'm very anxious to read about this man's childhood and upbringing. If anyone sees any earlier info on him, can you please post it. I noticed that he was ordered to have a psych eval in 2006 and never did. Do we know why?

I know that when this case first broke there was very little info out there on Paxton. I think they only had one low-quality picture of him. I wonder if we will find out more before the trial?

I also wonder if there are many more victims that we just don't know about yet.

Paxton did NOT just fall out of the sky. Where are the comments by old friends, classmates, and family? If there are four victims, they are bound to keep coming--probably back to childhood.

Bless those poor victims. If they are all as impacted as Dustin LaFortune, they are going to need a tremendous amount of support.

I'm going to move this to awaiting trial now that Paxton has been arrested.

OMG, this man was out there victimizing one after another, escalating as he went. OMG, OMG
I am so thankful he is finally off the streets and beign help accountalbe. I wonder if he began to feel godlike, over and over, harming, upping the ante, no consequences ever coming his way.

ty to all who have kept up with this one.

ETA IMO portrait of a serial killer in the making. IN a few years, he would have been the next Jeffrey Dahmer, mark my words. I pray he hasn't already killed and we just don't know it yet.

New charges pending against accused torturer: Lawyer
November 4, 2010 5:03 PM

CALGARY — A Calgary man accused of torturing his roommate and assaulting a young girl is facing previously unpublicized assault and weapons charges against a third victim from last year — and charges should be soon laid against him involving a fourth victim.

Defence lawyer Jim Lutz said he could not comment on the as-yet unlaid charges involving a fourth alleged victim of his client, Dustin Wade Paxton, but confirmed all would be consolidated for a preliminary hearing that on Thursday was scheduled for Jan. 25 to 31.

Paxton is accused of beating, confining and sexually assaulting his 26-year-old roommate and business partner between Dec. 1, 2008, and March 2, 2010.

More victims in Calgary torture case, Crown says

CALGARY — Four people have been identified as possible victims of a man accused of mutilating, beating and starving his former roommate, then leaving him at a Regina hospital.

Dustin Paxton, 30, is already accused of the aggravated assault and forcible confinement of Dustin LaFortune, who police say was tortured over a period of months before being dumped April 16.

Paxton is also charged with forcible confinement and aggravated assault involving a girl under 18 who can't be identified.

Crown attorney Joe Mercier confirmed Thursday that Paxton is also facing charges of assault with a weapon against another man and charges involving a fourth victim are pending.

"We anticipate a fourth victim,"

Two more alleged victims of Paxton come forward

Two more males have come forward alleging they were victims of Dustin Paxton.

Dustin Paxton is already accused of assault and forcible confinement.

In April, Dustin LaFortune was dropped off at the Regina General Hospital. He was emaciated, mutilated, burned, and brain damaged. Paxton has been charged in connection to the torture.

After police began investigating that case, a second alleged victim was discovered. She is a young girl from Calgary.

On Thursday, court was informed there is a third alleged male victim. Paxton is charged with assaulting Wade Gillis in May of last year.

The fourth alleged victim is also male. Paxton's lawyer Jim Lutz said he can't reveal much about the pending charges involving the fourth complainant. "I know about it but I can't say anything yet," Lutz said. "By the preliminary inquiry date (the new charges) will be up and running and they will be at the preliminary inquiry."

Man in alleged torture case wants changes to Criminal Code

"Dustin LaFortune was barely alive when someone dumped him outside a hospital in Regina on April 16.

After being allegedly beaten, starved and mutilated — his bottom lip and part of his tongue had been cut off — he was not expected to live through the night.

After being put on life support and undergoing extensive rehabilitation, LaFortune, 27, is slowly recovering. But while he continues to make progress in Victoria, where he now lives, he’s also working on another goal: Adding torture to the Criminal Code...."

and

"...LaFortune sought out and found a group online that is calling for torture to be added to the Criminal Code. LaFortune has also been lobbying politicians to make torture by individuals a crime...."

Dustin Paxton ordered to stand trial in Calgary on sex torture charges
By Daryl Slade, Calgary Herald February 2, 2011

Accused sexual torturer Dustin Ward Paxton has been ordered to stand trial on all of the primary criminal charges against him in connection with four victims, following a five-day preliminary hearing.

Provincial court Judge Brian Stevenson committed the accused on Wednesday to trial on 11 of 13 charges, including aggravated assault, unlawful confinement and sexual assault against his 27-year-old roommate and business partner.

The charges were previously separated with some being filed in Calgary and others in Regina, but they have now been consolidated in Calgary. The incidents are alleged to have occurred between Oct. 31, 2008, and April 16, 2010.

As well, the judge found there was sufficient evidence to send Paxton to trial for sexual assault causing bodily harm, unlawful confinement and common assault against a then 17-year-old girl. He did not find enough evidence relating to charges of sexual assault and aggravated assault against her.

Paxton will also go to trial for assaulting two male employees

"The Calgary trial of Dustin Paxton, accused of torturing and sexually assaulting his male roommate, heard from the alleged victim's former girlfriend Tuesday."

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/saskatchewan/story/2011/09/27/calgary-paxton-trial.html

Wow! From you link:

When the victim was dropped off at a Regina hospital in April 2010 he weighed only 87 pounds, had several broken bones and part of his lips and tongue were cut off.

It's not clear when the alleged victim will testify.

The man, who suffered a brain injury and now walks with a cane, said he cannot remember many details about his ordeal. He said he was too scared to leave.
