Marika, also known as "Mika" Sutton, was last seen in early-mid August 2025 in the Richfield neighbourhood of Mill Woods, located in southeast Edmonton, Alberta. Marika's disappearance is out of character, and as such, her family and police are concerned for her welfare.

47 year-old John Angus Joseph MacArthur from PEI has been charged with Mika's presumed murder. MacArthur was arrested on March 17th and was dating Sutton. There was a history of domestic violence in the relationship but no police reports were ever filed. Investigators now believe that Mika's body was disposed of near Highway 2 between Wetaskiwin and Lacombe sometime between Aug 22 and 29. MacArthur was driving a 2014 Jeep Patriot with the license plate CFB 2578. The Albertan police are urging the public to reach out if they saw MacArthur's vehicle during that time period
