Leblanc disappeared from Victoria, BC on September 22, 1999. He was last seen at the bus stop located at the intersection of Superior Street & Menzies Street. He failed to arrive at an afternoon appointment and has not been seen or heard from again. Few details are available regarding Leblanc's disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown.

I think there’s a strong possibility he left Canada. The area where he was last seen is close to a ferry route to the U.S. I haven’t been able to find much more information about Matthew, but if he was struggling with depression, it’s possible he set out on a final trip to fulfill some personal goals before taking his own life. The John Doe in this case was found in Florida, but since he was wearing a Dodgers top, it’s plausible he may have traveled there from the West Coast. Perhaps he simply went as far across the U.S. as he could, eventually ending up in Miami Beach.

Looking at Matthew’s photo, it appears he may have a condition similar to Alopecia Areata. He seems to have some greying, and part of his eyebrow looks like it may be thinning or balding. At first I wondered if that might just be an issue with the photo, but since the John Doe appears to show something similar, it makes the comparison more compelling and could point toward a match.
