Her family says they just want to know that Peacock is safe, and they also don't want the investigation to get bogged down by online speculation.

While no one has come forward with valid information, one New Brunswick woman has come forward with a generous offer to assist in the search.

She says she is offering the family her wedding ring set to sell as a reward for valuable information that leads to the safe return of the young woman.
The family has been told the gesture is worth $30,000.

"It's unfortunate that someone didn't come forward already," says James Slauenwhite. "We are hoping that with this becoming public someone will say where she is."

I truly hope this young woman is found, safe & sound, and returns home to her family. She is such a beautiful girl. Sad eyes though...she's been through a lot I think. So very sad.

‘We love her and we miss her like crazy’
Family has a stressful Christmas, wondering where young woman is
December 28, 2011

snipped...

Some unopened presents under Ruth Slauenwhite’s tree are a sad reminder the Dartmouth woman didn’t get what she hoped and prayed for this Christmas.

The mother of 20-year-old Melissa Dawn Peacock, who’s been missing since early November, sees the lack of holiday communication as another sign her daughter is in an unknown place where she can’t do as she pleases.

"I was holding on to Christmas, hoping that she would come home," Slauenwhite said in an interview at her Ryan Gate home Tuesday.

"The realization is that something is really wrong."

Why do they keep referring to her as a black woman with light skin? Is she bi racial?:waitasec:

RCMP search Hants County, N.S. home in connection with Melissa Peacock disappearance
Feb 11, 2012

snipped...Investigators began a search of a mobile home at 51 Douglas Rd. in Central Rawdon Thursday and remained on the scene Friday.

...The last known contact she had with friends and family was a text message Peacock sent her mother, Ruth Slauenwhite, around 10:30 p.m. the night she went missing.

The message said, "I don't want to, but I'm going to the country for the night. I'll be back in the morning. My buddy decided to go somewhere. I want to come back, but we're somewhere. I wish I were home."

"No one knows what happened after that. Did she leave Gore or is she still there?" Slauenwhite told Global News in December.

Hopefully, this reward money will make some lips start flapping. Melissa has been missing too long now and needs to come home.

Possible route that Melissa was on when she went missing.

Bungay said there is one thing that gives him hope. He said he left voice mail messages on Peacock's cellphone until her mailbox was full. Then, about a month ago, the mailbox was emptied and he was able to leave more messages.

He said he's not sure whether Peacock emptied her voice mail or the police did.

"Or someone else was in control of her cellphone. Those are the only three possibilities I can think of," Bungay said.

Halifax Regional Police have said Peacock is believed to have left Dartmouth in a vehicle that made its way to Beaver Bank, then Gore in Hants County. After that, the trail is cold.

Woman's body found in hockey bag
May 26, 2012

snipped...“We figure that it’s certainly not someone from around here,” one man said. “What I figure happened is that somebody just dumped (the bag) off the bridge and then kept driving up the Fleur-de-lis Trail, up toward St. Peter’s or something like that.”

Another resident speculated that the remains could have been put in the water further upriver at Victoria Bridge.

MacKinnon said it’s too soon to say whether the person is from the area or not.

“We wouldn’t rule out anything at this point.”
