Howard Richmond was remanded into custody, pending a video appearance Tuesday.

He was ordered not to contact several people.

A publication ban covers the proceedings.

Makes me wonder if LE is worried he would be trying to arrange to have matching stories from his friends.

Interesting ... perhaps he had already attempted to rewrite the facts of the night in question ... using the tactic of repeating specific information so often that people eventually believe that it's true

Very good find ! She seems like a very nice caring person.

On a side note, I'd always been curious as to where she worked, while trying to figure out this case. It was never mentioned by the media at any time.. only that she was a dental hygienist.
However, regardless if she had work in the dental field or not, she definitely worked nearby, as in Winchester or Chesterville. She mentions in her post about her hours of work and having a 1 hr lunch break. She said she goes home for her lunch break.

Just found this info on her blog. It says she is a baker , so I'm thinking she worked in the bakery at one of the local stores. IE Mike Deans, or Andys Foodland. The last time she visited her blog was on July 20.

Good find! He was spending time at home and she worked nearby, so it seems safe to assume that she went home after work and they went out in one car that evening to meet with friends.

I suppose that means that either before or after they met with friends, they gassed up the two cars. After meeting with friends, I suppose she went out for her "drive" or else she was murdered at home and the scene was staged.

We know that she was a dental hygienist. Using fb for a series of clues, I found someone who posted a clue that she was a coworker of Melissa's at the dental clinic. Looking at this person's fb profile, it says she works for Dr. George. Incidentally, there is a Dr. George Carlin (dentist) who works in winchester. So, probably this is where Melissa worked:539 St Lawrence St

It's almost shocking to see how much information can be pieced together from different clues! It sounds like she had two jobs: dental hygenist when needed, and baker during some of the rest of the time.

Was this a hearing where he was formally charged with a lawyer present ... entered a plea? Either way ... must be just a hearing that's part of the trial process.
