By July 2013, the Richmond's were in arrears because Howard forgot to pay mortgage. Melissa was "more worried that I'd forgotten to do it."

“I would be a bad man, dressed in black,” Richmond said. “She quite enjoyed the rape scenario, sir.”

Thus Richmond often came armed to their sexual encounters, he told the court.

“We started off using the knife,” he said, but they switched to a screwdriver, which provided the feel of cold steel without the danger.

He kept the knife though, so he could cut her out of her clothes.

“She liked to be roughly manhandled,” said Richmond. “She liked to be choked.

“That made me quite nervous.”

OK first it's PTSD. Now they took their rape fantasies too far? Which is it? What a disgusting "husband" to blame her death on her. He explains the use of the knife and the screwdriver because she liked it. Also explains his black clothes. GMAB.

Enjoy your PTSD in prison for the rest of your life. JMO

"No act justifies that kind of violence," Howard Richmond said during the interrogation after being confronted with a video in which Jeff Thornton, his wife's lover, admitted he had an affair with Melissa Richmond.

"The affair made you so mad you tracked her down, confronted her, tortured her and killed her," Det. Chris Benson told him in the interrogation.

"No," Richmond responded. After a pause he added, "Fine, OK, I want a lawyer."

That, the jury has heard, was a sex game they played where Richmond would pretend to stalk and ravish his wife in secluded places.

They agreed to meet up at the South Keys mall.

Richmond had his doubts. The place was basically a giant trigger for his PTSD, he said, but he felt he couldn’t say no.

“She was testing me,” he told defence lawyer Jason Gilbert.

“It’s not in my nature to turn down a challenge from my wife, sir.”

They arrived in separate cars and made their final arrangements.

Richmond lurked in the bushes to wait for his wife.

He jumped her. They playfully struggled.

And then: “A very loud sharp noise.

“It reminded me of Croatia, sir. I saw the little girl (he said he’d seen gunned down before his eyes).” “Then everything went quiet.”

Loud noise....rape fantasy in a mall parking lot at night near a restaurant and main roads....this is the most ridiculous crapola story ever.

He's a piece of crap. Bringing all that stuff out.
Also saying he stabbed her because a noise that night brought back his PTSD.

If he really loved her he would have just been a man and said he killed her and taken the punishment.

He makes me sick.

Well what a load of crap. His story was that he was about to act out a rape fantasy with his wife (crapola#1) and then a noise (?????) caused him to have a flashback? (crapola#2). So him acting out and dressing up as a blacksmith or whatever he was in his medieval times fantasy world didn't trigger any was flashbacks at all but some noise did? BS. JMO

The reason why the bag of workout clothes are curious.....did they factor into the "roll play"? [emoji19]

Had she just been to the gym, is there one at that mall?
