A man who raped a five-year-old girl so viciously he tore her vagina and broke the blood vessels in her eyes was sentenced to 18 years in prison yesterday. Calling the incident "very difficult and troubling," associate Chief Judge Mary Kate Harvie gave 46-year-old Nicholas Dean Sennie 15 years behind bars on top of time he spent in custody awaiting trial for aggravated sexual assault.

"Her vagina was split with a third-degree tear to her anus and she required surgery to repair the injury," Makar said last week
