from your link:
"The case of two people charged with the January 2013 first-degree murder of Noelle Paquette will return to court Nov. 28 following a short hearing Thursday in Sarnia."

defense would like a change of venue.....

I really think this case will be heard in London.

If you asked most people in London about Noelle's case, you would get a blank look. London is less than an hour's drive away from Sarnia. While this may seem surprising (particularly since the accused young male was from London) the crime really didn't get the attention of the general public in London, as the crime happened when people were busy with holiday activities. They weren't reading the news. In contrast, the crime was so terrible that the people in Sarnia couldn't help but hear the shocking news.

I hope a change of venue is granted as I want to see a fair trial, with no chance of appeal.

Thank you for the updates everyone!

http://www.theobserver.ca/2014/11/28/trial-of-michael-macgregor-and-tanya-bogdanovich-set-for-2016

They set the trial for April 2016. Seems like an awfully long wait for everyone involved.

Holy carp. A year and a half from now? That seems ridiculous.

APRIL 2016?! I wonder why so long...at least we know they are in jail and will stay there til then...is there a big backlog or something?

No one notified the family before it was announced. You would think with a sister in LE, there would have been some notification.

So the trial will be approximately three years and four months after the crime?!? :what:

Well.... There is some solace... At least the perps will remain in jail during this time...

:jail: :jail:

It took 3 years to get to Trial in the Stafford Case. There were also 2 charged. I wonder which one will roll on the other?

  • #574
I believe he will roll on her. She was the dominant in the relationship mostly. I know they switched. She will assume that he will not, he will do it, though.

Being from the city where this crime happened and going to high school with Noelle's 2 older sisters I must say that it is taking far to long to prosecute these two animals. IMO the more time that goes by is better for the defence. Let's hope our LE in Lambton County has done it's job properly and justice can be served whenever the trial ends up finally happening.

So sorry you have a personal connection to this horrific crime. The wait til Trial can be difficult. Given there are 2 accused it does tend to take a bit longer. Keep the faith. I'm sure LE has done a thorough job and it can be an advantage to the Prosecution as well. I'm confident these 2 will be convicted and Noelle will finally RIP. Agonizing for Family and loved ones but these 2 monsters need to go. Away. Forever. IMO

ETA-welcome I see you are new here. So sorry it's under these tragic circumstances

If he does roll on her it may be difficult given the fact he had injuries to both his hands. He showed up in Court the first time with hands bandaged I assume it was a result of the crime. Then again he may try to say he followed thru under duress. I just look forward to the day they both are behind bars forever. Heartbreaking crime.

I think it's the same as Victoria's case.

Both of the accused are scum of the earth and 🤬🤬🤬.

Hope all of them are rotting behind bars, stay there forever, and have secured a special spot in hell for what they did to their victims.

http://www.lfpress.com/2015/04/20/teachers-murder-trial-wont-be-held-in-sarnia-judge-rules

Superior Court Justice Bruce Thomas ordered Monday that Michael MacGregor, 21, and Tanya Bogdanovich, 33, will be tried outside of Sarnia-Lambton.

....

A request to move the trial was made earlier this month by lawyers representing MacGregor and Bogdanovich. A publication ban was placed on the evidence at the hearing.

In the decision, Thomas assessed several grounds for a possible venue change. Each alone didn’t necessarily prompt the order, but together formed the basis of his decision.

In the decision, Thomas assessed several grounds for a possible venue change. Each alone didn’t necessarily prompt the order, but together formed the basis of his decision.

Thomas said moving a trial is rare but he said he was “deeply concerned about whether an impartial jury can be assembled and whether even if assembled the horrific nature of the evidence will overwhelm all available safeguards as the jury considers the very direct loss to their community.”
