Southern Georgian Bay OPP find the body of missing boater near Beckwith Island

Charles Dicare, 67, went missing early Sunday morning

Southern Georgian Bay OPP are searching for a missing boater between Christian Island and Beckwith Island.

A 911 call was received at about 12:35 a.m., on Sunday (Sept. 4), reporting Charles Dicare, 67, had left his 45-foot vessel, which was moored on the west side of Beckwith Island, in an inflatable to catch a kayak and paddle board which had become detached from his boat.

The kayak and paddle board have been located but Dicare has not, and it’s believed he was not wearing a life jacket.
