On August 14, 1978, a body was recovered from the Detroit River. The body is believed to be that of a female. American money was found in the pockets of the pants. This person is believed to have been dead for several weeks to months.

A bit of a shame that nearly no information is provided. It seems likely that she went missing from Detroit Michigan, but due to the fact that there is no info provided, narrowing it down is near impossible. I have emailed the Canadian authorities to see if they will provide more information (race, height, age... even estimates)

Sorry do you mean the unidentified woman, or the list of missing women? I was looking at Unidentified Women in Canada for a different case, but came across this one. It seems very likely to me that she originated in the USA, possibly near Detroit or further up the river. But given that she was found in Canada, anyone trying to find an unidentified person to match a missing person would miss her completely. So i'm just trying to make sure that she is included in searches for missing people in the USA. and I added people that I thought were good candidates for who she might be, in that hope that anyone that searches their name, would come across this Jane Doe also..... I hope that makes sense to you?

Thanks...that makes totally sense. Just now I's scamming trough Detroit missing women at Charley's. There are not a lot fitting in the timeline.

Maby it's Mary Frances Gregory. She is missing since February 15, 1978 and has allegedly traveled with a friend through America. It's a bit of a strange story.

Mary Frances Gregory was last seen leaving her home in Parry Sound, Ontario on February 15, 1978. She was headed to Palo Alto, California for a vacation at the time.

It is believed that Mary departed Ontario by car with a male acquaintance. The man claimed that he drove through Pennsylvania, New York, Ohio, Illinois, Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and Nevada during the trip. He informed authorities that he dropped Mary off at a bus station in Las Vegas, Nevada, approximately ten days after leaving Ontario (February 28, 1978).

Mary never arrived in California and has not been heard from since. She was carrying luggage at the time of her disappearance. The bags have never been recovered. Foul play is suspected.
