Ottawa police are investigating the discovery of a body in the Ottawa River Friday afternoon near the area of Ogilvie Road and Rockcliffe Parkway.

Police spokesman Const. Chuck Benoit said officers are removing the body — a woman in her 50s — carefully to avoid disturbing any potential clues to how it got there.

“They're investigating around where the body is found,” he said.
