The Ladysmith RCMP is seeking public assistance to locate 13-year-old Payton MacDonald who was reported missing on March 17, 2022.
On March 16, 2022 Ladysmith RCMP received a request from the Ministry of Child and Family Development (MCFD) to check on the well-being of Payton who is residing on a sailboat with her father in Ladysmith.
MCFD had a Family Court Order which directed Payton’s father to immediately disclose her whereabouts. Unfortunately, Payton’s father was not cooperative and was subsequently arrested and held in custody for disobeying a court order after he failed to disclose her location to MCFD workers.
Payton was last seen on the morning of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, with her father entering his van at the foot of Harbour View Road in Ladysmith.
“To date, police and family have not been able to make contact with Payton. She does not have a phone or have access to social media,” states S/Sgt. Wes Olsen of the Ladysmith RCMP. “We want to ensure that she is safe and well”.
Payton is described as follow:
Caucasian
168 cm (5’6’’)
130 lbs (59 kg)
Brown eyes
Brown hair
If you have information about Payton’s whereabouts you are asked to contact the police in your jurisdiction, or the Ladysmith RCMP at 250-245-2215.
