RCMP in BC are asking public's assistance in locating Quia Birch, a Penticton male missing since March 1, 2021: RCMP in British Columbia - Public assistance wanted in locating missing man, Quia Birch..

Quia Birch is described as:

• Caucasian male;
• Height: 5 foot 11 inches (182 cm);
• Weight: 175lbs (79kgs);
• Hair: Short, brown hair.
• Eyes: Brown;
• Associated to a 2008 Dodge Dakota, grey in colour, British Columbia licence plate LY7530.

No foul play involved at present, but concern level is elevated.

A friend of the family told Castanet Birch, who she said may also go by the last name Gunster, had been working as an electrician between Penticton and Kelowna at the time of his disappearance.

According to this Facebook post (Log into Facebook), Birch is also known as Qia Gunster.

Reportedly, Birch has closed all his social media accounts and his cell phone is off/ dead.

It appears that Birch has passed, according to a public Facebook post by their adoptive family. I am not linking to that post, here's the full message:

I just wanted to thank all of you for spreading the word about Qia being missing. Thank you for loving him.
Qia won’t be coming back to any of us. Although, we may see him one day.
Please know that due to COVID we aren’t planning a memorial at this time but we would all like to do something.
If you want to donate or do something in Qia’s honour, you could write a letter to your MLA that says we need to end statlessness [sic.] in Canada. He was very passionate about that.
I don’t know the details, please let’s respect other family wishes that it isn’t all over social media. Thank you.

There are no police reports confirming his death, or any news updates, perhaps at the family's request.

May he rest in peace.
