I agree. I think Richard is Sumpter Doe.
His DNA was not a match. I am his sister.
Easier if his sister did ancestry DNA then uploads to GEDmatch and FTDNA. Once uploaded can contact DDP with the kit number for them to check
The police now have a dna sample. I am his sister.

Thanks for coming here. You really should do ancestry DNA, I believe it's on sale for the holiday. After it's done processing, upload to GEDmatch and FTDNA in case DNA Doe Project takes a case that does turn out to be him. If you need help, email me at [email protected]. Put MP DNA for genealogy in the subject.

I tried to call this in to Det. Shipp but he is not a detective anymore and no one at the department has gotten back to me about who currently has this case. This is an unidentified body from Ashland, Virginia found in 1977.

Wanted to report that the Brantford police dept. found who is working on the case currently (Det. Jeff Carter) and I have relayed the above information to them.

Yes, this one was started first, then another thread opened up where comparisons were made to a UID male who has long since been identified.

Did you ever hear back? There was such a resemblance, especially the mouth.

Unfortunately, I did not. You're more than welcome to call it in again.

I have made an attempt to resubmit.
Thank you! I am swamped with my personal life which makes it hard to stay on top of things.

Any update? I notice this doe is a DDP case but was only added in October 2024. Not sure if the DNA has been retrieved. Would be nice if Richards DNA could be compared or added to Namus. Would also be interesting to see the DNA compared with The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs).

(when will America (incl. South America) have a unified missing/unidentified system to identify Does?)
