I can't think of any Canadian terrorist group who would need their own private dungeon, so I would go with sadistic sexual deviant.

There was a group that was training in the woods in Orillia in 2005. I'm leaning towards an individual weirdo but it made me think of this too:

I haven't heard about it being a living quarters but police are saying that it was built so that no one could get out.

I agree...and with so many missing from the nearby GTA....hmmmm this really has me thinking and the more I think about it, the more this CREEPS me out!!!!

me too, but the walls are so white !! I was expecting brick/stone walls, though I guess being in the basement, white walls would require less artificial lighting...battery operated or with a generator?

That bench sure looks awkward, I was expecting to see a bed or at least a mattress, but not that bench....and those chains hanging from the ceiling????

Hope it was under surveillance, and hope if LE mounted tiny hidden cameras, they also mounted a couple outdoors, on trees, polls, etc; if only indoors, it will be all gone

the lady at the 1:30 mark being interview said that 2 other abandoned homes just east down the road have also been burnt down.

This makes me wonder if it is an arsonist just getting a kick out of hearing his story of the fire on the news (burning this house would make big news) who had nothing to do with the confinement room

and/or did this person/group have something similar in each house???????

They said the windows were so strong you couldn't break them? Windows? I looked at the photos and didn't see windows to the basement so I am going to assume the windows were for viewing into the dungeon from inside the basement. Creepy.

This may be farfetched but could the perp have burnt the other houses to divert attention from the true reason he burnt the farmhouse? To make it look like a random string of arsons as opposed to targeted (its a dumb idea but..)

I wonder if it looked like it was just painted once or if there had been several layers of paint- as if painted after each time room was used?
