"Strong will be back in court in January 24. The details of his appearance are protected under a publication ban."

"I’m making this gofundme in hope that it’s going to help my parents.
My parents just moved back to Ontario from Alberta and moved into their new home at the end of November, on December 29th 2017 my parents were forced to leave their home due to the absolutely horrible Rori Hache discovery.
Aside from this being absolutely tragic it’s also been very stressful, with them not being allowed in their home, the insurance company won’t help them with this specific situation and victims help services are not helping them, being forced to stay with family in the mean time this has financially hurt them, they are now forced to move and could really use the help for moving expenses and whatever else they’ll need until they are able to get the things from their house (and at this time no one knows how long it will be until they are allowed to go back in)
Thank you so much to anyone who is able to help my parents and donate, we appreciate you so much!
RIP Rori Hache"

Sorry to not get back sooner. I see the source of the extension info has been posted a couple of times since so I won't post it again.

Forensics is still on scene although the pod is gone and tents along the driveway have been removed (backyard tents were still up yesterday).

Let's see what the morning court appearance brings to the table!

1. Damn this publication ban, it's just a bail hearing! Hoping we'll at least get to know if he's retained representation, and I'm hoping we'll be made privy to the amount of people who show up in support. Maybe some interviews will be given again.
2. Thank you for the information on the displaced family. It is really disheartening that their insurance and victim assistance are unable to help.
3. The likelihood that AS would get bail is nil. Jmo.

My feeling is that this will just be remanded for another couple of weeks. I'm sure the prosecutor has informed the judge that very serious charges are pending, so I don't think there will be any bail hearing until LE has fully assessed the evidence. Strong's lawyer may object (although I don't think this guy wants to be on the streets right now) and the judge will listen politely then deny bail. In cases like this, decisions are sometimes made in advance and what happens at the hearing is just for show.

Adam Strong, arrested after remains of missing Oshawa teen Rori Hache found, still without lawyer

Jan 24 2018

"Adam Strong appeared briefly via video link in an Oshawa courtroom Wednesday and was remanded for a further appearance next Monday, Jan. 29. Court heard Strong, who has been in custody since Dec. 29 of 2017, does not yet have legal representation but has applied for Legal Aid and plans to speak to a prospective lawyer Friday."

....

"Outside court Dionne slammed Strong’s seemingly casual demeanour during his video appearance, calling him an “animal.

“I believe I’m staring at the eyes of my daughter’s murderer,” Dionne said.

Dionne said, however, she’s not disappointed with Durham police, who have been combing through Strong’s apartment since his arrest, but have not yet laid a murder charge in relation to Hache’s death.

“I’m not surprised,” she said. “They’re thorough; they’re accurate. I’m not putting any pressure on them to speed this up.”

Dionne said she’ll continue to attend Strong’s court appearances. “I want to be here,” she said. “I want the judge and Crown to feel my ups and downs, my strength and my pain.”

She said she’s hopeful that police will soon release Rori’s remains, and that a funeral can be held in the spring.

That service will be open for the public to attend, Dionne vowed.

“She was Oshawa’s girl,” Dionne said. “I can’t put her to rest until I have her.”

Mother of murdered Oshawa teen Rori Hache looking to start support organizations in her honour

January 24, 2018

"Dionne explains she’s in the process of creating a support group called ‘Alive’.

She says it will be a place to talk and cope for anyone in Durham who has lost a family member or friend to homicide. Dionne adds while there are victim services in the region, there is no place where multiple people can get together and cope with a loss to the best of her knowledge. The name of the group comes from a tattoo her daughter had.

Dionne says this group would be therapeutic for herself, assisting with the grieving process.

“I don’t think I’m going to be able to properly heal until I speak with some [other] survivors,” said Dionne.

Dionne also hopes to have ‘Divine Angel’ up and running by the end of February. She says the goal of this organization would be to raise money to help anyone who needs it across Durham, such as homeless children and single mothers.

She also hopes to hold a public funeral for Hache sometime in the spring."
