GUILTY Canada - Rori Hache, 18, pregnant, found deceased, Oshawa, Ont, 29 Aug 2017

Thank you for this information. May I ask how you know?
I wish I could do a drive by. Alas, I don't drive. Or live in Oshawa.

LE has installed two blue tents in the backyard, apparently equipped with space heaters. Speculation is that they are either digging or melting snow to access the fire pit.

Reminder to folks, that AS makes his court appearance today.

Should be interesting. Although the one charge against AS is a serious one, it certainly might not be serious enough to deny him bail. Wonder if other charges will be added today, specifically in relation to the pipe bomb?

oh, thanks Matou and PespiMax. I joined, was accepted, never posted, and now can't find/access the group at all. I barely had a chance to read any comments. I'm not sure if this
means I was removed? I wouldn't know why.

Did you share anything you learned there in the other group? Its a very strict group and there is no warnings for bad behaviour. Cross the line and you are out.

Oy... Thank you for this information, andreww. I think I just had a flashback to the incinerator in the TB & LB cases.

I cant read this thread any more.:sick::sick:

There has been so much speculation about this case and so little info from LE. I kind of get the feeling that some people might be disappointed at the end of the day if this turns out to be a single homicide. These groups have painted AS as a psychopathic, serial killing cannibal with really no evidence to go on. We'll see how it all plays out, but at this point he's just a killer who dismembered his victim to me.

Yep, Dell and Adam likely would have got along well together.

So true.

Just his actions scream - not the first victim to me - but I agree with you, that many are jumping the gun on what he may or may not have done.

Court was remanded until end of Jan. No bail which means, they have a huge evidence case against him.

Did you attend court, J? I can't find any information.

Adam Strong just appeared via video in an orange jumpsuit in handcuffs, looking relaxed. He has yet to retail a lawyer and is applying for legal aid. He was remanded for 2 weeks. Back in court Jan 24th @globalnewsto

I just did a drive by. There was a camera man there, but I'm not sure whether he was with the police or news media as I didn't see any news vehicles around (that said, it is a small road, and no parking available on street unless one uses the adjacent parking garage, so maybe news vehicle might have been parked there or some other nearby place out of view). The cameraman wasn't in a uniform and was outside the crime scene tape so I assume not with police.

There is indeed a blue tent in the backyard, though I'm not sure what they're using it for. Perhaps just to keep nosey people from seeing anything going on, perhaps to melt snow and check the grounds, or perhaps just to give cover given that we're expecting some rain over the coming days and up to 15cm of snow on Saturday. There was also a black van there as well that I hadn't seen there before. Not sure what role that vehicle or its staff might have in this investigation. I was hoping it wasn't the coroner.

There were also two forensics units there. The large one, and a smaller SUV type one. Something I noticed as well that I don't think has been mentioned yet which was interesting - the front door had a sticker covering it (small, almost like a file folder label size). It was NOT broken, but I wonder if that was for the chain of evidence? Perhaps to seal the doorway, and maybe someone must sign off on something when they open it? Purely speculation on my part. The sticker was NOT pressed to the opposite side of the door so perhaps it hadn't been sealed off as yet, or perhaps someone just placed a new sticker on today... it didn't look weathered.

I wonder what else if anything officers have found there? I'm told that last night an ambulance was at the scene with lights on but I don't believe that means that a body was found or anything. Its possible an officer may have been struggling with everything they're dealing with, or someone may have had a slip on ice etc. I feel awful for the officers dealing with this scene. I'd worry about possible vicarious trauma in each of them!

CP24 just aired a spot on this story. The crime specialist was outside the court house and stated that AS appeared for about 45 seconds with his arms crossed and noted he was very disrespectful in his response to the Justice and overall said AS couldn't appear to care less.

An intereview with Rori's mother they showed as well - the mom stated she felt her daughter was hunted. That is the term she used. :(

Thank you for driving by and the local coverage.

There is a short video attached to this tweet with Rori's mom. Sorry, but I am unable to post it...maybe someone else can.

Thank you I corrected my post :)

Watching this now. Her mom is so incredibly strong. Chilling she thinks she was hunted. She said not to her knowledge did they know each other. She said AS was smug, and showed NO empathy to the judge or anyone in the court room.

Her mother will be at all court appearances.

The mother of a pregnant 18-year-old woman whose remains were found at two separate locations in Oshawa says that her daughter was a “brilliant” young woman who would have made a great mother.
“Rori to me was everything. I am nothing without my daughter and I really don’t know what life is going to be like for my family because nothing is going to be the same after this,” Hache’s mother, Shanan Dionne, told reporters following a brief court appearance by Strong via video link on Wednesday. “My daughter was a great human being. She was brilliant. With everything she did, she did wonderfully so there is no doubt in my mind that being a mother, she would have taken that to the top.”

Dionne told reporters that she only recently learned that her daughter was pregnant shortly before her disappearance and didn’t know exactly how far along she was.

She said that her daughter was “putting the right foot forward to make changes in her life” so she could be a great mother to the unborn child.
“I believe my daughter was hunted,” she said. “Nothing’s been proven but that’s what I feel in my heart
.

“I want the judge, I want the Crown, and I want the public to see that Rori was not misplaced in life. She had family. We love her. We’re going to represent her to the best of our ability during this case,” Dionne said.

Dionne also said she was disturbed to see a man void of emotion in the courtroom on Wednesday.

“You would think he was here for running over a kid’s basketball today. That’s the empathy he has for what he has done,” Dionne said.

Indeed Strong, his hands cuffed and his long black hair falling to his shoulders, seemed almost casual during an exchange with a justice of the peace. Strong said he’s not yet hired a lawyer and had “no clue” who might represent him as his case moves forward.

A future appearance of Jan. 24 was suggested.

“Sounds good,” Strong replied. “Sure.”

A former neighbour of Strong’s who requested anonymity — he said he’s received death threats for comments he’s posted — said that while a bit odd, Strong never came off as someone who would harm others.

"He was a nice guy, actually," the man said. "He had weird interests, sure. But he never crossed me.

"This is the same guy that would run out in shorts and a T-shirt in -30 C to start my wife's car," the man said. "So if he is guilty, he is very deceptive."

Another source, who also spoke on the condition she not be identified, said she was assaulted by Strong 10 years ago, when she was 19. The woman said she has now reported her allegations to Durham police.

"We met on the street when I was 15. He worked at Tim Hortons," she said. "He used to ride his bike around town. He'd stop and say hey."

The woman said she took Strong to be a nice person during that time.

"He'd sit and chat with me, buy me food sometimes," she said.

"I know he had an on and off girlfriend. She shot up a lot and he wasn't cool with that. But he put up with it. He was trying to get her off (drugs) he told me."

The woman maintained social media contact with Strong, as recently as last month when she wished him Merry Christmas on Facebook.
