That is the relatives of the two young women he’s accused of killing.

The accused Oshawa double dismemberment killer made a rare appearance in court on Thursday.

He confirmed he would have a judge-alone trial when it gets underway sometime in late September.

due to covid rules,

Oh dear.
Not unexpected, but the details will be terrible.

The Crown says in its opening statement that in December 2017 plumbers found what they believed was human flesh in the pipes at Strong's home and called police.

Crown attorney Bryan Guertin says when Durham Regional Police investigators went to Strong's home they found what turned out to be Hache's body parts in garbage bags in a freezer.

Guertin alleges investigators also found Fitzpatrick's DNA on a gutting knife.

Crown says Rori Hache and Kandis Fitzpatrick were both vulnerable young women, essentially homeless with no fixed address. Both were drug users and worked at times, in the sex trade. Both frequented downtown Oshawa. Both girls had no personal connection to Adam Strong.

Crown says the most significant similarity is what Mr Strong is alleged to have done to them inside his basement apartment at 19 McMillan Drive in Oshawa.

were called there on Dec 29, 2017 where Strong was caught trying to dispose evidence.

Crown says the pipes were clogged and plumbers tried to unclog the pipes. They pulled up several pieces of what appeared to be flesh like material and that’s when police were called. The crown says Strong made an admission to police when they arrived at his door.

Very disturbing content. Crown says Adam Strong led police to a freezer in his bedroom. It’s there they found Rori Hache’s dismembered remains in 4 separate garage bags. Her flesh was removed. This led to a 4 week extensive forensic investigation of the apartment

Fitzpatrick knew Kandis was using drugs & would often not hear from her for weeks. By fall 2008, he was worried, went to police around the GTA.

Just saw this case on the local news, I had forgotten about it, can't believe it is just going to trial. If it wasn't for him flushing parts down the toilet he may not have been caught.

Yes, this is worse than I thought it would be.
Yesterday I dry heaved when reading and welled up with tears of pain with something Ms Dionne said.


Looked online for a prayer for justice but they were all kind of too wrathy.
So just prayed a serenity prayer and listened to some Marley to soothe my soul.

Now knowing what to expect, feel better prepared for the long haul.
