Police search for missing man in crisis in Mississauga, possibly armed with firearms
''Peel Regional Police say they are searching for a missing Mississauga man “believed to be in possession of firearms and in a state of crisis.”

Investigators say 33-year-old Ruben Mukja was reporting missing from the Westminster Place and Rathburn Road East Area of Mississauga on Sunday morning at 9:40 a.m.

He was last seen on Saturday at 10:30 p.m.

Mukja stands five-feet-nine inches tall, with a medium build and short brown hair.

He was last seen wearing an olive green windbreaker, white shoes and a black backpack.

He should not be approached and anyone who sees Mukja should call 911 immediately.''

''Peel police have issued a public safety warning while they search for a missing man believed to be in crisis and in possession of firearms.

Police say Ruben Mukja, 33, was reported missing on Sunday, October 3 at around 9:40 a.m. from the Westminster Place and Rathburn Road East area of Mississauga.

He was last seen on Saturday, October 2 at around 10:30 p.m.

“As the investigation has unfolded, police have learned that Ruben Mukja is believed to be in a state of crisis and may be in possession of several firearms,” police said in a release.


He’s described as male, five foot nine, with a a medium build and short brown hair. Mukja was last seen wearing an olive green windbreaker jacket, white running shoes and a black backpack.


Police say if you see Mukja, don’t approach him and call 911.''

UPDATE: Police searching for missing Mississauga man believed to be in state of crisis

On Friday, Oct. 8, Const. Akhil Mooken said police forces in municipalities Mukja has been known to frequent are aware of his disappearance. Mooken added Mukja has visited Belleville in the past, but primarily stays in the Mississauga area.

After reading Rubens’ note following his disappearance, Mukja said he was convinced his brother had taken his own life; although he and his family maintained hope Rubens was alive, they mostly wanted his body located quickly so they could confirm his death and hold a funeral.''
