Nanaimo sailboat resident Ryan Pratt is missing

Friends reported the 35-year-old missing after he was last seen piloting a small skiff on Friday afternoon

A search is on for a 35-year-old Vancouver Island resident who went missing over the weekend off of Nanaimo.
Ryan Pratt was reported overdue by friends on Saturday after he was last seen at about 4 p.m. on Friday, piloting a small skiff heading back to the sailboat he lives on moored off Hammond Bay. That red aluminum skiff was found washed ashore on a nearby island and a canoe he frequently used was also found adrift.

Police and Nanaimo Search and Rescue crews continue to actively search for Pratt, but all efforts so far have been fruitless.
Anyone with information on Pratt’s whereabouts are asked to call Nanaimo RCMP at 250-754-2345.''

Mounties have identified a set of human remains discovered on a beach this week as those of a 35-year-old man who was reported missing late last year.
