It was probably Lake Ontario, but he was found by Hamilton police ie, 75 km from the Toronto waterfront.This is so sad. The article doesn’t provide much information, not even the name of the lake Sahil was found in. I’m wondering if it was close to where he went missing from? The family says he was a good swimmer, so
the situation is definitely odd. I hope this is investigated further.
Since Hamilton is where he lived, I think he must have returned there. It seems so unlikely or even impossible for the lake (which is not a river) to carry a body all the way to Hamilton, not to mention what an extraordinary coincidence that's where he would be found.
I think this sad case is likely related to other instances, labelled 'mental health concerns'.
IMO the experience of landing without family abroad, with, inevitably, high expectations, might be too much for some young people to handle, and they 'go under'.
