Man and dog aboard small plane missing in northern Alberta | CBC News
On August 11, a Cessna 172 left the Edson Airport at 5:20 PM and was scheduled to land at the Westlock Airport at 7 PM. The plane never arrived and no contact has been made with the pilot and its occupant.
The Cessna 172 was reported missing after the pilot failed to show up for work on Monday, the Royal Canadian Air Force said in a statement on Tuesday afternoon.
The plane was equipped with an emergency beacon but search and rescue officials say there is no indication the device was activated.
The plane is white with black and red stripes. RCMP are asking landowners in the Evansburg, Mayerthorpe, Barrhead, and Westlock regions to check their land and report any sightings of the plane to the Westlock RCMP, 780-349-4491.
