The three women share an unbreakable bond.

All three were moms, had friends and family, dreams and setbacks, ordinary elements of lives like everyone else.

But that’s not it. Their bond comes from the list of missing persons on the London police website.

The three sit at the top.

All three engaged in what police call a “high-risk lifestyle,” a euphemism for drug addiction and involvement in sex work, whether on the street, or in an escort service, strip club or body rub parlour.

Gleaned from past interviews with family and friends, these descriptions provide a hint of who is really missing:

Kathryn Bordato
•Once a track athlete who set school records in Leamington
•Mother of a son and daughter
•Through all her struggles, kept a roof over their heads and made sure they had good Christmases
•“I’d like people to know, when you see someone on the street, that’s someone’s son, mother, father . . . be respectful of them. If there’s a chance for you to help, please do, because the worst feeling in the world is not being able to say good night to your mom.” Son Zach Bordato

Vanessa Fotheringham
•Described as loving, bubbly and funny
•Mother to a young daughter about whom she talked non-stop
•Once a little girl herself who enjoyed sleepovers, playing house, singing to the Spice Girls
•“At the end of the day, whether you want to pass your judgment on the life decisions she made, you need to know that there are 60 people in my family who love her very much.” Cousin Julie Stacey

Shelley Joy Desrochers
•Described as loving, kind and funny
•Known for big smile and living up to her name, Joy
•Mother of one boy, grandmother to another
•Nickname: Shelleybean
•“Shelley is kind hearted with a fierce heart and unquestionable loyalty to her friends and family . . . I miss the way she giggles, the way she walks, the things she finds funny, the random acts of kindness she was inspired to do for others.” Longtime friend Elizabeth Minogue

Am I missing something here? How can the police know 100% the cases are not connected? Have they solved those other cases but can't convict for some reason?

My thoughts exactly, how if they don't know what happened to the 3 women can they say that there is no connection.

I think this is a mistake. Tell us what you know - because it has been many many years and these women are still missing. Disclose the inside information and maybe the public can help. They give no information and then ask the public for help. I don't get it.

“We have investigated this fully and determined there is no connection,” Heslop said in a series of emailed responses to Free Press questions. “We cannot discuss why we have ruled out a connection without disclosing all the inside information on each case.”

Police say they can’t determine if the women’s disappearances had anything to do with their lifestyles, and in some of the three cases, have never officially confirmed what those lifestyles involved.

Police here say they cannot determine yet what even happened to Desrochers, whether she is in hiding or in trouble.

http://www.lfpress.com/2016/03/08/committee-to-develop-co-ordinated-response-to-missing-people

In the wake of a London woman’s recent disappearance, a coalition of city agencies is working on ways to track the vulnerable when they go missing and deal with the emotional aftermath.

“It really hit home,” London Homeless Coalition co-ordinator Abe Oudshoorn said about the disappearance of Shelley Desrochers in January. “These cases have a high impact and are traumatic for the community. We need a more co-ordinated response.”

I had to join this site just to help inform people a little more about Shelley Joy Desrochers
Shelley was a mother of 3 children with her oldest living out west and her 2 others living in either Paris or Ayr Ontario.
She had a ruff life growing up in Foster homes and found out way to early in life how to work men to get her way at the very early age of 12 ( yes with sex )
Even still she kept a happy disposition about her and was a fun person to be around but once you really got to know her you could tell that there was some dark demons that were troubling her at times.
Yes she was a street walker and did not want to work it any other way and had some long talks about that for her safety. She wanted that quick B & G customer so she could go get high to help her kill the emotional pain that she was feeling. There were many nights she would ring my doorbell and crash out on my couch for a few hours cause she felt safe where I lived. Yes we had some arguments but we always forgave each other as friends do.
I hope that she is found alive and ok with her taking a break from what she was doing instead of the worse ideas and thoughts
Miss ya girl and pray for your safe return

HappyD, thank you so much for posting those heartfelt thoughts about Shelley. She sounds like such an awesome person.

I notice that her friends on Facebook are absolutely devastated that Shelley has not been found yet. They are not giving up so easily and have connected the dots that Kathy Bordato and Vanessa Fotheringham are still missing. Maybe we should revisit the clue in the VF case, which is the silver/grey suv that she might of been spotted in prior to going missing? Was it a suburu?

HappyD thank you for coming here and posting! Do you know if Shelley had a cell phone? We have been given so little information here, we don't even know what went missing with Shelley to help try and find her. I have to wonder things like - what outfit was she wearing when she went missing? Where was she living at the time, if staying with friends would they have noticed what items of clothing were gone? Etc. etc....

Yes Shelley had many cell phones over time
She always seemed to end up giving her phone to some dealer in exchange for some drugs but usually got it back in a week or 2
She did have 3 kids and not many people know that
She even tried to go back to school a few years ago but ended up missing too many classes and had to go to rehab to go back.
She tried but failed to do both

She did have her own place that she rented in the south end of London but usually hung out in the Hamiltion Rd, Rectory to Adilaide area

One point that has not been mentioned is about the last year or so she was sweet talking the johns into giving her money first and then taking off on them which I had warned her about that it could cause problems. She didn't seem to care that it could.

Another nickname was Shelley Belly

I think about her every day and dearly miss her

I never had her sisters number or met her but she had picked up Shelley a few times from my place
Her Mom is still in London too

A group of advocates and friends of a missing London women plan to meet Monday to continue pushing for more help for the city’s street level sex workers.

A public event to raise awareness about sex workers’ lives, a bad john line and ways to keep missing Shelley Desrochers in the public’s mind are some of the items on the agenda, said one of the organizers, Penny Drake.

“There is more we can do to help women, and there has to be a way to find out why my friend vanished,” she said.

Shelley has some good friends, keeping her in the news.

http://www.lfpress.com/2016/04/22/police-not-ruling-out-search-for-missing-woman

As London police continue to investigate the disappearance of a city woman, they’ve responded to public calls for a ground search by saying it wouldn’t be effective — for now.

Police did not originally do a ground search for Shelley Desrochers because of the lapse of time between when she was last seen and when she was reported missing, Const. Sandasha Bough said.

I used to work in an office on the corner of Hamilton Rd. and Rectory - not a great place to be in the day, let alone at night.

Was she out there working on her own, or did she have someone she reported to?

It's sad that she is out there somewhere. Bring Shelley home.
