CANADA Canada - Shelley Loder, 44, Mono, 7 Dec 2010

^Thank you! On one hand I'm impressed with what I found but I'm creeped out & don't know what to do with these images?!

His work experience includes hairdressing, auctioneer & dairy farming. He also lived in Malahide Township which is not very far from Mono or Orangville (case of Sonia Varaschin). You can probably drive from Mono to Malahide in under an hour.

Priestap also has been charged for two separate occasions of sexual assault & forcible confinement. He assaulted a real estate agent in 1988 & "abducted" another woman at gunpoint & took her to Fanshawe Conservation (campground) & sexually assaulted/beat her.

History of violence, use of weapons, stalking/voyeurism, theft, crimes against women, matches POI/LE sketches... Priestap has a sentencing hearing scheduled for September 7th. OPP needs to take a good look at this creep.

Billy-Jo Cousins, 27, is charged with a list of alleged offences.

Caledon Dufferin OPP team had executed a search warrant on December 19, 2012 at a rural property in Mono. Several firearms and a large quantity of marijuana was seized. Police at the time were unable to locate a man involved. That’s when the warrant for Cousin’s arrest was issued.

Windsor police hope new DNA technology will lead to break in 1971 child murder case

Windsor police retained the services of Parabon Nanolabs in Virginia for the phenotyping. The technology was originally funded by the U.S. Department of Defense, and only became available for law enforcement use about a year and a half ago.

“It’s very, very new,” said Ellen Greytak, director of Bioinformatics for Parabon Nanolabs.

Greytak said the technique is so new that Parabon does not have information on success rates, as the cases where phenotyping “snapshots” have been used are still in the court system. She said the Windsor case is Parabon’s oldest yet.

This technology looks very promising, it will be interesting to see if and how it might help in these cases!
For anyone interested, this is the thread for the little girl murdered in 1971..

ONTARIO COLD CASE: Is an arrest close in brutal attack of Shelley Loder?
"The vicious attack on Shelley Loder and the murder of Sonia Varaschin occurred three months apart in 2010. There are similarities and dissimilarities to each crime. Could the same offender be responsible? Could it be a copycat? The OPP doesn’t believe they're connected but continues to keep an open mind.

No arrests have been made after a violent and vicious attack on Shelley Loder inside her Mono photography studio close to nine years ago, but an investigator overseeing the file says one tip could break the case wide open at any time."

By chance I just stumbled over a photo of AJS, charged with murder of 2 young woman. The pic reminded me of the sketch in Shelley's case, although the hair color isn't fitting. Though some hair color could have changed from one hour to the next hour.
He was about 38 yo at the time of Shelley's assault in 2010.
(Can't do the side-by-side better; I'm still a poor beginner, when it comes to work with "Paint". Sorry!)

The hairline (bangs) shown in the sketch are not unlike the ones belonging to this alleged perp, imo, speculation. FWIW.
HUNTER: Tortured trials of suspected double killer Michael Durant
January 29, 2020

Michael Durant is on trial for the murder of a Niagara sex worker.
''According to the St. Catharines Standard, Dana Arnold painted Durant as a Jekyll and Hyde character.

She arrived at the couple’s Niagara Falls home after work to find her husband and the mortally injured sex worker in their garage.

Durant allegedly told his horrified wife he battered the woman with a hammer when she tried to rob him.''

Since Shelly was a photographer, is it possible she had pictures that the criminal wanted? Maybe he knew she photographed him and he wanted to get his hands on those photos. Perhaps they were incriminating? Maybe he thought she photographed him because he was in the background somewhere while she was photographing someone or something.
I wonder if the man seen in her neighborhood ever came forward? Maybe he was just someone walking in the neighborhood, completely unrelated to the crime. I wonder if he even knows he was “wanted”.
I haven’t seen any updates on this case. I hope Shelly has recovered and that she and her family are doing well. With new advances in DNA technology , I hope this case will be solved soon.

Hello,
I come back and check out this forum every couple of years, sometimes it feels very odd but it does feel positive that people are even still talking about her case and making connections. I wanted to update a little bit of her condition as it seems like the people posting here do not know her personally. She lives with a Traumatic brain injury which has terribly changed her entire life. While physically able (can drive, move around etc.) her cognitive and social skill abilities have made working not an option. Memories of the attack are not present. I will not discuss her current location. She is still happily married to her husband who has also been her primary caregiver ever since. I think I saw one note asking about potential affairs or involvement of her husband. I will only say that this has been thoroughly investigated (for years after), has upset the family greatly and has felt like a frustrating waste of time and resources of the Police. Three family Members (husband + 2 kids) were in the house together right before she was found. A question about her high school also came up, she grew up in alton/orangeville/shelburne and attended ODSS, Mayfeild, & Shelburn highschool throughout those 4 years. Early adulthood was in the GTA, lived out of province for a little while, then returned to Orangeville area in mid-twenties to start business & family. I do not fully understand why police choose not to give out certain information so I will be cautious with details I know but feel free to ask the questions here or in private messages if you feel like they would directly help with something you are already thinking about.

Welcome to Ws Terra321, thanks for chiming in!
Ms. Loder has not been forgotten, although it is sad to learn that her ordeal has caused her life-long injuries.
The twisted and cowardly perp who did this must be identified!

Over the years, it has been speculated that this case may be related in some way with the murders of Audrey Gleave (photography connection?) and Sonia Varaschin (Orangeville connection) do you think there is any merit to those speculations?

Shelly Loder never leaves my mind either. She seems to have disappeared from the news, sadly. Shelly, Sonia and Audrey are related, somehow. I’ve thought that from the outset.

Wondering what other connections we can think of to link these three women? Sonia was a nurse and Shelly’s husband was studying nursing. Any other connections? Shelly and Audrey lived in remote areas. Did all three somehow get in touch with killer/attacker online? Common likes perhaps. Music, education, something?
