WHAT is happening to women in O-ville?
Why are we not hearing about this?
Does anyone have any info?

  • #45
I'm sorry for swearing in my original post above (I've corrected that now) -- but: what is happening? Dotr, you are always amazing at creating threads. Can you make one for Sarah? I'm trying to find info but am stymied at every turn so far.

Dotr!!! THANK YOU. I was just trying to remember how to make a thread and create one for Sarah when I saw it was already there. THANK YOU again.
WHAT is going on? Why aren't we hearing this? I'm hoping everyone in O-ville is keeping an eye out for Sarah. She's 25 years old. Pic in the OPP bulletin.

Sonia Varaschin - unsolved murder in O-ville
Shelley Loder - unsolved attack (attempted murder) nearby in Mono
Audrey Gleave - unsolved murder in Hamilton
Sherry Mitchell - missing in Oville, then found deceased, no confirmation yet re murder
Sarah Mckeown - missing in Oville

Sherry and Sarah went missing IN THE SAME WEEK.

Thanks for sharing that info, Orangevilleslueth.
I have no idea why we're not hearing more about Sherry's case in the press. Does anyone have updates that I'm somehow missing? Sherry was a mother, a sister, a dear friend; her family members and other loved ones must feel besides themselves with grief and rage. I'm hoping LE is at least saying more to them than to the public.
We need some answers. Is there a POI? Does LE think she was targeted? Did she have any one or any ones in her life who made her uncomfortable? Is there any street surveillance of Sherry leaving the restaurant/bar she was last known at (thanks O-villeslueth) -- did she call a taxi, or walk home? Did she accept a ride with anyone? Was she there with friends? Was she online dating at the time? Where was she found?
What's up with report that she was seen after being listed as missing, as one poster here commented earlier (is there confirmation of this info and what does it mean for her case?)
We need journos to be on LE for answers.

Rolling Hills Dr. (last location for Sarah per OPP bulletin) appears to be a very short street and, per google maps, appears to be a TEN MINUTE DRIVE from the last sighting for Sherry (as per O-villeslueth --thanks for that) on Riddle. VERY very eerie. Sarah and Sherry: both v. petite in build (height and weight) and brunettes (Sarah is reported to have blue hair currently). It's SO hard to get any info! Are these cases connected? For Sarah's case (missing) I desperately hope not. There's still hope for Sarah but we as the public need help ... in order to help. We need info!

Sorry Orangevillelueth: I don't have any help for your Q. Maybe some folks from the area might recognize the street. Is there a particular reason you're asking -? Why is this street important? Do you have a time and day for this photo of Sherry? Was she in that area (wherever that ends up being) around the time she went missing?

I also want answers but I was thinking that perhaps LE and media are waiting until the visitation and service is over. All out of respect for Sherry. JMO

OMG, ANOTHER WOMAN MISSING FROM ORANGEVILLE? What is going on? Thanks to dotr for, yet again, another thread started.

Wow, this is just horrible. Orangeville isn't that big to have so many missing women. Hamilton isn't considered all that close to O-ville, so Audrey is perhaps an outlier, but, if I was living in O-ville, I'd be using a name that doesn't begin with 'S'.

I was thinking the same thing. Orangeville isn’t Toronto or Montréal in size/population.

From wiki

The estimated 2022 population of Orangeville is 29,094. The population of Orangeville was recorded at 28,900 in the 2016 Canadian Census, and was recorded at 27,975 in the 2011 census. This is a change in population of 925, which is an annual growth rate of 0.65%.

When Sonia was killed LE got a lot of DNA samples from men in Orangeville. I hope this all helps in this new case.

  • #57
Did Sonia live near Rolling Hills Drive or near Riddell? And are the rail road tracks near Sonia’s home?

  • #58
no, I don’t believe this info is in any media reports or police reports (Orangeville police will never share info with the public anyway.) I did not know info had to be supported by sources. Thanks for letting me know. Unfortunately, I can’t say where I got my info from. I know people who are close to Sherri and her family. That’s all I will say. Since this isn’t exactly “proof” or “facts” I can take down my post.
