Not sure how many cell tower qthere are in that area. If only one that won't help track him IMO.
My family lives close and there are police moved into the area from my family. Moncton in lock down is a first for everybody.

Praying your Family and everyone remains safe. Must be very unnerving for you.

I wonder if he did some physical preparation for this like someone would prepare for a marathon to increase endurance and speed?

"If" he is an avid hunter he likely has optimum endurance and knows the area in the dark. Coming from Family experience LOL

I expected to wake up and see a different title to this thread instead of ACTIVE SEARCH! That poor town must be traumatized. Hopefully they will find him during the daylight hours so they don't have to go through another sleepless night!!

He was spotted three times Thursday morning, Codiac RCMP Supt. Marlene Snowman told a mid-morning news conference in Moncton.

Each time, she said, he got away.

“He was very quick and able to move around,” acting Commissioner Roger Brown said at the news conference. “He knows the area.”
How does that happen , if he is on foot and they are in cars how do you get away three times?

just my :twocents: but when you are in foot you can run where cars cannot go.

I think he was spotted and then slipped back into the woods

Don't know any hunters, but imagine they must have quick reflexes, too. But, I pictured him working out at a gym and running 5 miles every day in prep for this. Maybe it's just the camo in the "Rambo" picture that gives the illusion, but he looks a lot more athletic and muscular than he did in the youtube videos of him singing.

Good observation. He does look buff in comparison. A good hunter has excellent eye hand coordination. Sadly. In this case.

Since he was spotted 3 times and no reports of shooting at LE I pray he is not planning an ambush :scared:

these people just saw a police officer killed and they still stayed there looking out the window and video-ing everything ... I heard one of them say "you better have your camera ready"

the shooter could've easily aimed at their heads and taken two of them out

I realize they called 911 but after they called, they returned to the window to watch and resumed videotaping

it's interesting to me that they still didn't feel like they were in enough danger to warrant closing the curtains and hiding behind furniture, even after they saw a cop go down

It is not even like they were videotaping what was happening for LE to have in the event of a trial, for use as evidence....they were videotaping THEMSELVES watching what was happening
I am trying not to judge because I have no clue what I would be doing in that situation, but I know can almost guarantee it would not involve my taking video.

Woke up thinking this would be over already (woke late because I stayed up till almost 4am trying to see it through...). Still catching up on the thread and tweets. Do they have any clue as to where he is holed up, or moving about?

Surprised they have opened the scanners. Last night they were all "offline" to us internet users.

Anyway, G'Morn or G'Afternoon folks :seeya:

Can you paraphrase? TIA.

Got him cornered in a residential area. They don't know why it started. Just a very short clip.

I think he was spotted in back yards, it was called into LE, but he was gone by the time LE got there.

Been following this actively on Twitter and news since it happened last night.

Absolutely appalled.

I know that heat sensors were used in BC by Police in the last month to catch thieves who were running at night. I am hoping it can be used in this case, if they don't catch that ba$&ard by nightime.

Good question. He could have placed a vehicle at a predetermined point and planned to leave the area. But, if that was his intention, I think he would have done so during the night. I don't think he would have been able to get far, either, because of all of the LE checkpoints.

He must have holed up somewhere during the night to sleep. Wish they could have caught him then. By adding friends to his FB, I wonder if he's looking for someone he can trust to harbor him.

The scary thing is that a rampaging man with weapons, usually has no problem making a vehicle become available... imo
