More than a dozen officers on scene that I can count, multiple snipers in place, K-9 units also here.

Police have repeatedly said over a speaker to "exit the building" since surrounding the complex

Of the three reported sightings of Bourque this morning, police said they only confirmed one so far.

CBC reporting that they have surrounded a building and are saying 'Come out with your hands up'.
Hopefully they have him.

I don't understand either - this is not a tv show! Stay home & let the RCMP do their job without having to work around you and try to keep you safe when you've put yourself in the middle of a dangerous situation! MOO

Brown added that the focus of this incident needs to be brought back to the families of the officers killed or wounded.

"We have one of our members with three children. And you know, these are, these are real-life situations," he said
.

The two wounded officers were in surgery Thursday, but their injuries are not considered life threatening.

Codiac RCMP Supt. Marlene Snowman told the news conference that officers were dispatched after receiving a call Wednesday afternoon about a man on a Moncton road who was believed to have a firearm.

She said the shooting occurred while the gunman was on the road, and when he moved into the woods.
[The shooting]

occurred over a period of time, a short period of time," she said.

RCMP Const. Damien Theriault said on CBC's Information Morning in Moncton that he had "lost three friends," but that "we are professionals and we have a job to do right now. We will have time to grieve after."

Prime Minister Stephen Harper said the shootings are "a stark reminder that our men and women in law enforcement put their lives on the line in Canada every day to protect our citizens and communities."

Gov. Gen. David Johnston said RCMP officers may "understand the risks that come with the uniform, but always defend our communities with bravery and courage.

"Today, we remember the sacrifice of these three officers, a tragic loss we all feel," he said.

I would expect his location to be isolated by his cell phone ping, if indeed he does have it with him, and the battery is still in use.

Moncton Man Spoke With Shooter Moments After Shooting

Moncton resident Jason Cyrus says 24 year old Justin Bourque, the subject of the man man hunt, ran just feet from the fence of the back yard where he and his family were gathered with friends. Cyrus says they thought Bourque was involved with the search and asked what was going on. Bourque told them they should get in the house.

I hate to say it, but, I am very concerned about exactly what this freak is up to.

I hesitate to say it, but, I feel that he has a worse plan in mind, than what has already happened.

If it's a trap, could he have something else up his sleeve? I mean, if he knew this was what it would come to, if he is indeed in the house, and if he is so anti-police and whatever else he is, what does he have planned?

He knew they would come in with swat and sniper. His issue is with the police.

I am worried he has the building rigged to explode or something, when they storm the place. *worried*

God, for some reason this thought never remotely crossed my mind. I have friends sheltering in place, and others who were forced to go to work. :(

Yes, he said he wanted to "go out with a bang." Can't link but from globe and mail article. There may be explosives involved imo.

Since he warned those folks to get inside it sure is apparent LE is his target.

"I never took him seriously, but he always said he wanted to go out with a bang and bring people with him," recalls CI, who worked with Bourque at Walmart several years ago, until he was fired. He wanted to "give people something to remember him for."

sbm, bbm

Very very worrisome indeed.
