Very very sad! Crazy the landlord didn't hear anything. Obvs he was someone she trusted.. I'd like more details in this case but sadly we might not get them for a very long time. Canada is well known for its PB on cases! Mostly I want to know WHY? Why would someone do this. HOW could someone do something like this. What the hell goes through someone's mind I couldn't imagine!

I was literally throwing up reading some of the findings from the NP case, it's just boggles my mind the things people do. I don't freeking get it!

I think the name he goes by is Simmonds and not Simmons.

If you go look at the guy we think it is (with the obviously fake name) in his FB there are profile & cover photos. There are comments by FB members with the last name Downey that refer to his as "cousin", "twin" so I think it might be him

“We were hoping for another outcome, and worked hard for another outcome,” said Inspector Don Coleman..
“Clearly, by the timeline, there was nothing we could do.”

“Clearly Taliyah was alive at 11:30 on Monday and was out of the residence,” Coleman said.
“What happened after that, we’ll have to try and firm up.”

Please do not post information that you "think" might be the perp ... only if you are 100% sure it is the right person. There is no competition here to get the information. We'd rather the info be 100% correct than a whole bunch of guesses and possibles.

Nothing could be worse than some innocent person's name being wrongly connected to such a horrific crime. Please post responsibly.

Does anyone else find it strange that CM said he did NOT know the person they arrested yet it says they had to stay away from each other? I guess maybe CM didn't even think about Downey maybe he was thinkin someone more close to the family. I dunno it's a little off to me.

I think that when CM said he didn't know who was arrested, he meant that he didn't know the name of the person who had been arrested because I don't think the police would have shared that info with the family when he was only arrested for questioning at that time.

Thinking out loud: could Downey be the man seen speaking to SB at Dairy Queen? Does he have a family and that's why it wasn't urgent to search his residence, they knew he wouldn't have risked taking her there? Could the kids go to the same daycare, and he dropped his child off and said "oh I talked to Sara and Taliyah won't be in today"? Just a thought... My mind is trying to tie up all these frustrating loose ends... Like why the daycare didn't worry about where Taliyah was?

It's not that common for day cares to call parents if the child isn't there, unless they do things differently in Canada.

Really?! I know if I didn't take my daughter and forgot the call, my daycare would 100% call me to check. Just like a school would if a student didn't arrive.
