Calgary police seek missing woman not heard from since 2016

"Tammie Doreen Howard was last heard from on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016. Howard was reported missing by her family in April 2017.

"The last time anyone heard from Tammie Doreen Howard was Christmas Eve in 2016. Her family then reported her missing to police in April 2017."


Howard, 49, is also known by the name “Irish.” Police describe her as being about 5’1” tall and 130 pounds with a slim build, red hair and blue eyes.

Anyone with information about Howard’s whereabouts, or anyone who had contact with Howard in the days leading up to Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016, is asked to call the Calgary police non-emergency number at 403-266-1234 or contact Crime Stoppers."

The Calgary Police Service is seeking public assistance to locate a woman who was last heard from in late 2016.
Tammie Doreen HOWARD, 49, was last heard from on Saturday, Dec. 24, 2016. HOWARD was reported missing by her family in April 2017. Friends close to HOWARD also know her by the name ‘Irish’.
After HOWARD was reported missing, an investigation was initiated. In November 2017, it was believed HOWARD had resurfaced as reported by a local, third-party agency. After investigating this believed sighting, police concluded it was unfounded.
The investigation to locate HOWARD continues and at this time all leads have been exhausted and police are reaching out to the public for information.
HOWARD is described as approximately 5’1” tall, 130 pounds, with a slim build, red hair and blue eyes. It is uncharacteristic for HOWARD to go this long without contacting family members and they are concerned for her welfare.

''More than five years after a Calgary woman disappeared, city police say they believe she was murdered.''

''There’s no one piece of evidence that indicates the 49-year-old met with foul play, Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta said Thursday.

“Initially, we were looking at her cases as a missing person case and then over the last five years through our inquiries we determined she was a victim of homicide…,” he said.

“It’s the totality of all the information we’ve received from all sources that’s led us to believe it’s a homicide.”


''A key piece of evidence in the case is a light-colour Jeep Wrangler and police are seeking the public’s help in acquiring information on it.''

“We believe this vehicle played a part in the homicide, as far as which part that played, we’re asking the public for information,” said Schiavetta.


“If someone knows who the registered owner was, how this was used in the homicide, this is what we need from the public.”
