Nao, of the three white buildings closest to the tracks (northwest, northeast, and southeast) i think if we were to stand facing the tracks in front of the white building on the northwest side, the curve of the tracks goes left and upwards in accordance with the pictures. If it was either of the two houses on the northeast or southeast side, the tracks should curve in a different direction. So, seems to me the pics are north of the house on the northwest, not right at the intersection/crossing.

Thanks sillybilly - clarity-not so much.. i do understand what you say, but my mind is still having trouble grasping why the pics show the tracks turning one way and google the other way.
Anyways theres a house for sale next to the tracks and a BB close by, Rosedale Ave is also direct route from Hwy. Theres a trail from Douglas Ave to the tracks, and Taylors phone was found at 7:30 it was dark, so the tracks must be used as a walk thru to down town etc, even at nite.
But it seems to be basicly a residential area - so i would up the odds on it being someone local.

Has LE requested DNA from anyone yet? They must have a good amount of forensics.

Any indication of landfill searches or anything like that for the discarded costumer or clothes of the perp/s? How about video/picture requests to the general public? There must have been alot of filming going on that night, I would think.

"need to get their latest findings out to the public".

wonder if that's supposed to mean the perp could be looking for another victim.

Can a local help with the two locations of interest? Is Armstrong part of North Okanagan Regional district? Central Okanagan Regional District seems far from Armstrong but I really have no idea. TIA

OK I just read that Armstrong is in North Okanagan region. So what is going on with the Central region? That seems to be where Kelowna is located.

Armstrong would be near the top of the Okanagan region, Penticton at the bottom.

Has anyone seen any news reports on the conference yet, video maybe?

Yes, Armstrong is in the North Okanagan and Kelowna is the largest city in the Central Okanagan. The two towns are about an hour's drive apart, connected by Highway 97. It's not uncommon for people to drive up or down the valley for work, school, shopping, etc.

I don't know the time difference, so I'll go the easy route:: how many hours away is the press conference?

It's tomorrow at 3 pm PST. It's three hours behind Toronto time so I know I'll be watching it at 6 pm tomorrow. Did you say the "easy route?" lol

Does it seem odd to anyone that LE says they have 'significant information' that they need to get out to the public, however they scheduled the press conference more than 24 hours after their announcement? One article said they had to prepare for it in the morning and that is why they didn't schedule it until the afternoon, however they had all this afternoon to prep, if needed.

I wonder what's up.

@sillybilly, Thank you

From the news reports thus far it appears the press conference being held tomorrow is to release new information to the public in hopes of generating new leads. It seems there will be 2 areas of interest in the north and central Okanagan disclosed. My best guess would be discarded items tied to the murder and/or crime scene in one way or another were found in these 2 new locations.

This is my best attempt to explain the area, i cannot pin point the path(s) with perfect accuracy. I believe there is more then one way to get on it from the school side, i can't bring myself to go down there in-order know the exact entrances to the path so i didn't include them. As you can see there is thick(ish) patch of trees on the back side of the school obscuring the view and making difficult to mark any well worn areas with accuracy.

I hope these help, i know this site has helped in other cases. Thank you all WebSleuther's.

I am sorry, i couldn't figure out how to post them as links or images. If you copy and paste them into your address bar it will show them to you. I tested it :)

Thank you so much for your efforts to get this info to us, CanadianCandy!

Unfortunately the links don't seem to work for me. Perhaps you can tell us what (i.e. jpg, document, etc.) specific type of item you are trying to post and one of more technically-inclined WSers can give you some tips.

I don't blame you for not wanting to go down to that specific area. Please don't do anything that you're not comfortable with.

Thanks again for going through the trouble of helping us become more familiar with the area.

I wonder if this photo is recent and if that is the phone she had on her that was found on the tracks?
