I have been reading through all the posts here, if there would be a photo of the trailer wheels we can find it if the car is inside or not..

sorry...not following.

Well, IF the truck IS in the trailer we can feel confident about a couple of ideas earlier floated here. They planned to either strip the vehicle or soup it up - perhaps for participation in some wild race event. Reportedly TM's truck is exactly the same model as the one they raced in 2011.

Just the same, something doesn't sit right with any of this. What on earth could the motivation have been? Even the thrill seeking notion put forward by TB's brother-in-law feels a bit wobbly considering DM's father died less than 6 months ago and his online eulogy seems so heartfelt, respectful and proud. Drugs can play games with people's minds, of course and have them act seemingly out of character, but if TB's life has been lost (pray that isn't so) then this is a crime where motivation and action seem absurdly disproportinate.

Just a thought but it looks like it's rained there. Maybe they left the truck in the trailer to preserve evidence. Also, can't remember the specific case but I do recall a vehicle being taken to the Forensic Center in Toronto with a body still inside. NOT saying that is what happened in this particular case but it has been done before.

But would they wait for warrants if there was a chance Tim was inside it, possibly alive? Sadly, this suggests they know what has happened and there wasn't any real rush to look inside. Just hope I'm wrong.

If police have reasonable grounds to believe that Tim is alive, and in danger inside any structure/vehicle etc they would NOT need a warrant to enter. If they were looking for evidence of a crime, and/or clues as to his whereabouts, then they WOULD need a warrant.

I found this:

"Hamilton’s decision to move its emergency radio network to an encrypted digital system this summer has enabled police to shield communications from the public. It’s no longer possible to use a traditional scanner – or any of the downloadable apps for smart phones – to listen in on communications between police dispatch and officers on the street."

thank you my dear hammy!

The trucks are not the same but similar and they did not race their truck they used it to tow their trailer that carried their racing jeep.

I wonder if at any point on Monday night or later the suspect(s) took the 407. There would be some nice video evidence in that case.

Surely they wouldn't be that daft. :floorlaugh:

Yes, most Canadian police dispatch systems cannot be monitored with the traditional systems. They are encrypted digitally.

Even if a truck is inside, they are not going to roll it out for all to see, nor would they announce on site that it has been located. I think until there is official word about the missing truck, everything is pure speculation right now.

Hoping they can still find Tim alive. If the suspects did do something to him and knew he was not alive, they are stupider than I thought to hold onto anything that would link them to it.

The truck may contain fingerprints of the thieves, dna, and other trace evidence that they were inside the truck. :please:

I have friends up that way who posted on FB about Mother Nature not having a very good Mother's Day and was downright nasty!! We had a few ice pellets early this afternoon and threatening skies but that's about it.

Just because there are no forensics folks on scene does not mean he is not inside the truck or trailer. Many times, they will tow vehicles and trailers before an examination in order to keep the chain of evidence intact. We see this many times when victims are left in the trunks of cars and not found until the car has been towed to a secure location.

I hope he isn't in there and is just locked up somewhere, but it is looking more and more like these tools decided to commit an atrocious and idiotic act for a stupid truck.

Duh. Sorry. Mental clutch slip, there. Listen. What can I tell you. I'm old.

I'd be curious to hear about the family dynamics in DM's upbringing. I think they'll prove to be interesting to say the least.

In Canada there are only two theft charges. You're either charged with theft under $5000 or you're charged with theft over $5000.

Yep. Tnx. Already pointed out to me. I didn't know we didn't categorize thefts over $5000. on some kind of relative seriousness scale. Maybe that factors in at sentencing.
