I posted the same questions about DM's father the other day... with the same thoughts in mind. His cause of death can't seem to be found online. It had to have been sudden. Something to ponder....

True...may be something worth looking into...although the man was in his 70's

I read in one of the biographies that he was 44 when DM was born...DM is 27 so that would have made him 70-71?

Anyway he was no spring chicken

Too coincidental in my opinion. What are the odds someone living in Hamilton finds someone from that neck of the woods who just happens to know both the victim and someone who has been arrested for murder. Just saying. I know sometimes they say it's a small world but this seems too close for comfort. We are talking about large populated cities here, not small town business. JMO. Now just trying to figure out how close the two were or how well they knew each other. I believe I have figured out the closeness of the instructor and the other somewhat but...

I absolutely agree with you. Then being on the "front line" of the TB crew. What better way to stay informed with everything? JMO. Maybe I've watched one too many CSI's...

Canadian law doesn't allow discussion of what you hear on the scanner. But you can listen. I was kept busy for a very long time last night. Just don't expect a lot, and maybe have a map handy while you listen.

Just want to say, it is Hamilton police handling this case, not the Waterloo police, and even then maybe a special unit. I don't believe the local Waterloo police scanner will have anything related to the investigation unless it is a new event of some sort like one of the guys on the loose being located.

Actually, Vivian is right ... you must not be looking at the same photo. There is one where the tats on two of Tim's fingers are very clear (iirc, the initials were SO and KK)

If you go back to (probably) Thread 1 and do a "Search Thread" for the word "tattoo", i'm sure you will find it.

ETA: You'll have to trust the word of those of who have seen them ... the pics have now been removed from the wedding photographer site

They are either not permanent tattoos or they were Photoshopped out by the photographer on other photos. I have all the wedding photos which I saved from the site before they were removed. The only photo you can see the tattoos is the one where he is doing up his vest buttons. There are other photos from the wedding day as well as his engagement photos where those letters are not on that hand.

I have a feeling they were part of an affectionate type gesture, drawn in pen ink, on the wedding day only, and may have been either quickly washed or worn off. The "S" may stand for Sharlene.

I really don't think they are tattoos.

Its not a tattoo...it is nothing except hair on or near knuckle. They have made it clear TB is not involved in anything criminal he was nothing but an innocent victim of a terrible crime.

I saw that picture, in amongst the other pictures of TB and his wife, from the website someone posted with their wedding-related pictures (the photog's website) and it was definitely tattoos on his 2 fingers. It looked to me like 2 letters vertically on 2 fingers side by side.....not hair. One letter looked like a larger "S". The site that had their pics, well pics are now not available.

It's been mentioned many times that DM had a lot of money and therefore he could have purchased a truck if he wanted one but when you really look at the situation he was likely in, I'm not so sure that would be possible.

He was likely the sole heir to his father's estate. He acquired the house in Etobicoke, which is worth at least 1.2 million dollars. He acquired the farm in Ayr, which is also worth close to a million dollars but these were not liquid assets, nor does it appear that he was willing to part with either. Now the hangar in Waterloo was recently built. I don't imagine it was paid for in cash and there is likely a very heavy debt on that property. I believe the hangar at Pearson was a lease so there was no sale there to finance the building of the hangar in Waterloo. I also believe that the Waterloo hangar may have been on the market but realistically speaking, how quickly would that have sold. So I would imagine that DM, who didn't work apparently, was property rich but cash poor. His overhead had to be huge. And without the business up and running, there was no income coming in. So I don't imagine it would have been that easy for him to come up with 20-50 thousand dollars for a new or used truck. And he probably had no use for a loan, or at least his accountant didn't. He already had at least 3 vehicles.
If this idea was to steal a truck to replace the engine in the red Dodge Ram so that he could haul his jeep in the trailer to this car race, then I'm seriously at a loss as to what went wrong and why TB was killed in the process.

Or...if his "business" was stealing vehicles and selling parts and this robbery went bad, I'm still at a loss as to why someone in his position would be doing something like this for a living. It's just a senseless tragedy any way you look at it.

MOO

I agree with your post!!!

As for the vehicles, from viewing DM's friends fb pics and reading the comments on the pics, DM had a chevy nova, a cobra, a mustang, a red dodge ram, a Yukon, a black trailer, a helicopter, a yellow jeep.....airplanes as well. Also in the background of pics there was a motorcycle, and several car parts/motors/etc

I am still catching up on today's thread, so, forgive if this has already been discussed.

This aerial photo appears to show distinct tracks in the field, and the officers have formed a convoy on the top left of the photo, appearing to walk the tracks.

Has it been determined what caused those tracks? They don't appear to follow a "normal" pattern, as for farming, to me. JMO

Hey everyone. First time poster here, although I have lurked at different times to gain more insights for cases which I was following in the media. You guys have some excellent sleuthing skills and, I am certain, law enforcement has benefitted from these. I think Det.-Sgt. Kavanagh was subtly tipping his hat in your direction today during the afternoon news conference.

Don't let yourselves stray too far from the outline of the facts given through the police briefings and media reports. For instance, when the police state that Tim was targeted, I believe it would have been for his truck as the main, and most likely, only motive. Why the choice of word of "targeted"? Remember, the suspects and accused wanted a Dodge Ram and were originally, presumably, going to take it from the large guy, from whom they backed off after encountering him. I would imagine that they did more homework for the next attempt, the homework being to do some recon on their next potential victim. Tim was, therefore, likely targeted because they would have sized him up, seeing that he was not as imposing or formidable as the so-called large guy. In other words, they knew they could take him.

The police state that an SUV was involved as the shadow vehicle which trailed DM and TB and the other suspect. My conjecture is that this other vehicle had enough accomplices in it who could serve as back up to deal with Tim. It would not surprise me if Tim was beaten to death somewhere by these accomplices, DM and his buddy. When those maggots are arrested, I surmise that they will exhibit some signs of physical altercation on their bodies or faces. I hope that Tim kicked one of them in the nuts.

Tim's cellphone likely ended up in Brantford to throw off the trail. Cellphones are GPS trackable, the suspects and accused would know this, so it stands that this phone was probably discarded as soon as possible.

For those thinking that this was a frame up of DM, give your heads a shake. The evidence collected so far is plenty to convict DM, and if we are lacking in knowledge of further evidence, it is because the Hamilton Police Service and other assisting LE agencies are being careful so as not to divulge critical information that would assist the accomplices at large. As Det-Sgt. Kavanagh stated this afternoon, it is guaranteed that more arrests are coming soon. Also, I found it interesting that he chose to place the word "female" before "male" in reference to another accomplice.

This case has bothered me from day one when I read about it in the media, and when I saw the pics of Tim's wife, Sharlene and their daughter, it actually left me infuriated. I don't know anyone who pays cash for $800,000 of land, while having airplanes, helicopters, numerous vehicles, incinerators, etc. as their personal assets. Killing a family man who was merely trying to sell his truck, a man who was working honestly for his family's welfare, while in possession of all these things, reveals a cold-blooded mindset.

I saw the tat's also...looked through those photos a couple times. SO and KK on knuckles middle and ring fingers I believe.

that is correct, though I still believe they are written by pen ink and not a permanent tattoo

Driving by the Bosma family home on my way home today...choked up, seeing the floral tributes starting to pile up. Trying to send love and positive thoughts to this poor family.

Are you referring to PL?

Does anyone know when PL became an administrator? Maybe it was after the Waterloo connection was made. The Dutch community is a very small world so I can see him knowing TB. As for if he really knew DM we do not know except they both did activities at the Waterloo airport.

Also to add, it's entirely possible that when the perps went to TB's house to see the truck, that TB's wife saw them but they had no idea she saw them/that there was anyone else inside the home to see them. They might have had no idea that he was married/didn't live alone if there weren't obvious signs when they came to his door.

Hello, I am a new member, but have read since day one. All of you are amazing. I have been trying to phone in a tip on the tip line and I wont leave a message. Is any one else experiencing this problem?
My experience on selling something on a Kijiji was very strange, but the timing of it all is now even more strange, and very concerning. my husband said be careful. what I am asking does anyone know a direct line to get someone to answer? As I am not leaving a message to a tip line as hubby says Don't. So I don't want them to call me when he is home. Please assist.
Even the area is getting more and more concerning, as its right in that area. Just a very, very strange Kijiji response. Who can I actually talk to?

My guess is once all the wild theories are tilled, we will come back to a simple story of a low level gang of thieves in over their heads who end up killing an innocent human being in a botched robbery and then making mistake after mistake as they attempt to cover their tracks. I think Tim's wife got it right: It's just a stupid truck. And someone is now dead and his daughter will grow up with only stories of him. Pointless.

AGREED. i would not be surprised if this was their first time trying to steal a vehicle via test drives from kijiji/auto trader. i do think they've stolen vehicles, but perhaps not in this manner. i agree, sounds like a botched robbery done by arrogant rich kids who think they know more than LE and wouldn't get caught.

thankful that today's afternoon presser, the investigator was quite confident that the second suspect will be caught though! sounds like they know who it is, just got to get all their ducks in a row and find him.

just curious here, did anyone look at the wedding photos posted? anyone notice the tattoos on TB fingers? what do they mean? they are very faint

The person photographed with the tattooed knuckles had a black/dark grey vest on. TB wore a white vest in his photos - I don't think those are Tim's knuckles.

PL and TB went to school together.

About the tattoos on the knuckles in the wedding pics...
There is only one picture of tattoos on knuckles...it shows no head/face ...just torso and legs....an artistic shot showing a man buttoning his vest...getting ready for a wedding...

I don't believe it is TB...the man wearing the vest and sporting the knuckle tats has a wedding ring on *TB had no wedding ring on before the ceremony*...and no pinky ring as TB wore...

AND...the biggest clue it is not TB....The man pictured is wearing a dark vest...as part of the wedding party did...TB's vest was white/off white....so...it's another male in the wedding party IMO....:)

ahh yes, there is your answer. I can verify that from the other pics...TB was wearing a white vest at his wedding, so those knuckles withe he "SOKK" on them was another guy in the wedding party.

Note the words "allegedly".

Neighbour must have suspected other activity in the past to be snapping these photos imo.

The photo of the incinerator was taken on the 10th, correct. If so, then that is the same day that DM's name was released via MSM. If i were his neighbour, i'd check around a remote property i knew he owned too! Mind you, i'd probably call the police asap first.

WM's obit mentioned a few "missions" he was involved in.
http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/thestar/obituary.aspx?pid=161695472#fbLoggedOut

One mission mentioned can be found here.
https://www.ic.gc.ca/app/scr/cc/CorporationsCanada/fdrlCrpDtls.html?corpId=4435958&V_TOKEN=1368573722634&crpNm=Canadian%20flora%20and%20fauna%20society&crpNmbr=&bsNmbr=

This corporation appears to be active, but has not lawfully updated its directors listing, and seems to have not filed any books for a long time. I am curious if money is being moved through it still. It also has zero web presence and seems to not have its name attached to any charitable events of functions to date.

MSM mentions that the Cherry Red Truck was listed under Millard Holdings LTD.
http://www.thestar.com/news/crime/2013/05/14/tim_bosma_dellen_millard_to_be_charged_with_murder.html

A search on txm.com/tsxventure for "Millard Holdings LTD." shows a corporation of the same name that seems to have nothing to do with the Millard family. I do not know if Canadian business law allows for two holdings companies to have the same name. Perhaps the DM related Millard Holdings has been dissolved ?

Follow the money, find clues.

BBM: Exactly. Follow the $. This case just reeks. I am glad they have more than 120 LE on this case, and if you really think about it, that is a MASSIVE amount of LE. Can any of you folks remember a case that had more than 120 LE on it for such a sustained amount of time? That's ALOT.
