With respect to SL, we don't know what suggestions he had made until now. Also, he may not have thought DM was capable of murder 11 months ago, just as I'd imagine there are other people who know DM who wouldn't have thought so but now may be wondering.

FWIW, this article states PL and LB's family did notify the police of the phone records at the time, but the police weren't interested (the original investigator on her case seems to deny this). The article also clears up the question of how PL got those records (they were still being mailed to her parents' house and when she went missing, they scrutinized them).

PL? Do you mean SL?

Claroon, you made mention in an earlier post that one of the suspects was younger than the other. Why did you say this?

Post #50:

BBM

Check the media thread, I believe the other suspect is described as early to mid 20s in the official LE descriptions.

For anyone interested in how they may have tracked a vehicle following TB's truck:

I can tell you all that the main intersection north of TB's house that connects to the highway (leading to Brantford/Paris/Waterloo for example) has video cameras mounted up on the lights (for people running red lights, etc.). From TB's house to this intersection is about 3km. TB's road is one of the main roads leading from the rural area where I live out to the highway. Any vehicle seen behind his truck that continues in the same direction would not be unusual -- everyone generally would keep driving in that direction. However, if there was a vehicle starting from a parked position near the end of his lane, that would be a different story.

first time posting, here it goes

*LB missing in July 2012
*Incinerator said to be purchased by DM July 2012
*AM said to not be a person of interest in TB case
*If the incinerator was purchased in July 2012 then it would be assumed DM was in Manitoba.

Does anyone recall seeing pics on AM's facebook page of him being in Manitoba for six months? Fairly large custom home construction (one of his friends commented "did you win the lottery or something.")

I don't know who this house belong to BUT AM was also in Manitoba during that time period (two posts shown on google - can be viewed using the "cache" option.) One post April 2012, one in August 2012.

Who was the house being built for? What do you think the likelyhood is of DM owning properties outside of Ontario? If DM does own properties outside of Ontario are they being searched. Incinerator was said to be purchased by DM...was it purchased by him? Was it purchased by someone under DM's name?

I keep flip flopping, he did it, didn't do it....I have no idea. I'm sure since the police haven't put out detailed descriptions that they have everyone they're suspecting under observation. I'm sure bits and pieces will be put out to make them squirm, then its just a waiting game, wait and watch, when the pressures on they'll mess up and the cops will be waiting to catch them.

Very good sleuthing regardless. JMO and welcome. In Winnipeg April- Aug 2012.

Sorry I haven't read through everything yet:

Were the races in Baja just an excuse to pick up cocaine? Register for an event, show the registration, and do the race and pick up/transport drugs. JMO
I won't be surprised to discover that DM could have a fake passport as well. I guess we'll find out. JMO

If this were the case, they likely wouldnt have felt passionate enough to get the race logo tattooed on their arms. JMO

A reminder for all of us and the media:

The advent of social media, and the proliferation of online observers, commentators and reporters, for better and for worse, has changed the landscape to an information and misinformation three-ring circus, in which some people toss around wild accusations, make dangerous assumptions, and come to ill-considered and libellous conclusions.

It's why thespec.com was forced to prohibit commenting on this story.

Some of these same commentators wonder on social media or ask us directly why we haven't imparted the same "information" — are we just too lazy to figure it out, or are we part of some conspiracy?

The fact is The Hamilton Spectator often possesses information we won't share until we confirm it. Our reputation depends on reliability. And mistakes can be legally and financially costly for big news organizations in a way individuals or startups do not need to contemplate.

That may have been the reason to get the tattoos in the first place. Something to connect them with the event when getting accross the border. Who gets tattoos of EVENTS in the first place, KWIM? I've been to some great ones and so have many people I know and no one gets tats of these types of things. Maybe birthdates for children, etc. JMO

Been thinking about the truck again...it was that model of truck they seemed to be after so badly. They wanted it with some urgency, needed it quickly for some imminent operation.
I read a review of the 2007 Dodge Ram to see if there was anything particularly special about it. Here is an excerpt...

Conclusions: This particular truck was known to have better than average towing power. Could easily handle the type of trailer found in DM's mother's driveway.
DM needed the truck for some urgent reason. Had some heavy payload to tow. This truck could handle off-road as well. Whatever DM was up to, he needed a truck like this QUICKLY. Otherwise, he could just buy one. But to walk into a dealership, it takes time to process. You don't just drive off with the vehicle that day. He needed it urgently.

Police removed a black race trailer (seemingly identical to the one in the photo of DM on the 2011 trip to Baja 500 which was hooked up to his red Dodge Ram) from DM's mother's house, which later was confirmed to have housed TB's black Ram truck.

Days later, MSM had video of police hauling away ANOTHER similar large black race trailer from the hangar in Waterloo.

If DM had acquired another trailer, and perhaps he and friends wanted to head down to Baja with 2 entries this time, he would have needed another truck to tow the second trailer.

Still begs the question why a 27-year old millionaire couldn't just BUY a new or used truck, but it may explain why he needed/wanted another truck.

The Baja race is at the end of May and it was established earlier that entrants can register on-site, so that could explain the urgency to acquire a truck to tow the second trailer.

Police not questioning DM in other cases, lawyer says.

http://www.huffingtonpost.ca/2013/05/18/dellen-millard-laura-babcock_n_3299011.html#slide=2452936

In the article, DM's mother says she is "100% satisfied" that WM's death was a suicide.

Lawyer also said DM was "100% innocent".

Eh, this is just the lawyer using weasel words. The police haven't sat down and asked him questions *yet*. That doesn't mean they're not investigating, or that they won't ask him questions tomorrow.

Claroon, could you reference where it has been mentioned that the #2 supspect is a younger guy.......how do we know it is a younger guy???..................and more his price range?????

This was the question I asked Claroon, as there is a tip # for new information and to me this is new information. Any new information needs to be disclosed to LE

I just found it strange from the start that a tattoo that small was noticed on DM by the first test drive owner. So many people have them now I wouldn't have made note of it. Was it brought up by the other person with DM so the person would take note? Was the first vehicle test drive person afraid and looking for something they'd be able to give as part of a description?

Here's where I flip flop...
Was DM used in the first test drive to establish a suspect for what was to come in the second test drive? Was DM actually there for the second test drive? He was identified as being at the first test drive, was he identified at TB's test drive?

I'm bewildered at the stupidity of planting everything that had to do with this case on all of your own associated properties. Is DM that stupid or does he have a friend/associate with a dark side/bone to pick and is being setup?

I'd really be interested to find out who had something to gain if DM was out of the picture.

It is LE who described suspect #2 as mid-20s (which makes him slightly "younger" than DM). I assume this is what the original poster is referring to.

(For the record, though, I'm not on board with any of the "DM was framed" scenarios, none of them seem especially convincing.)

I am English. I know someone who had a tattoo linking them to the Glastonbury Festival of either 92 or 93. I also know several people (more than 10 in fact) who have 'Istanbul '05' tattooed on their arms to reference Liverpool's win in the champion's league that year. (ExiledRed references both my support of Liverpool and my ex-pat status, in case you care, and you probably don't :) )

Given the ridiculous tattoos Ive seen in my life, from Mickey Mouse giving the finger (over the crotch) to a spider web covering an entire face, someone getting a tattoo of an exclusive race that they participated in and were proud of is less than extraordinary IMO.
