Toronto police find body in a creek in midtown neighbourhood | The Star
''Toronto police say a body was been discovered in a creek near Heath Street and Yonge Street on Tuesday morning.

Police say they received reports for a body in the water around 8:46 a.m. Investigators have cordoned off a large area around Yellow Creek, in the Yonge Street and St. Clair Avenue East area. When investigators arrived, they say officers found a deceased person in the creek.

Nearby school Deer Park Junior and Senior Public School is not in hold and secure as forensics officers continue to investigate.''


Toronto police tweeted that the discovery is being treated as a “suspicious incident.” Officers from 53 division and paramedics responded to the call, according to police. Toronto police marine unit are also on scene.

Information about the victim and cause of death has not been released at this time.''

'Police found a body in a creek at the bottom of a ravine in David A. Balfour Park on Tuesday morning at the end of Heath St. E. and Yonge St., just north of St. Clair Ave ., in what they are calling a “suspicious incident.”

''The body was in the water close to a pedestrian staircase that runs down the eastern part of Heath St. E.

That staircase leads into the ravine and into the David A. Balfour Park Trail.''
