"A passerby found the body while in the park on Eglinton Ave. east shortly before 10 a.m. and called police.

Police have set up a perimeter around the park while investigators complete their survey. They expect the scene to be closed off for several hours."

A passerby spotted the body of Nitiyand Gary Singh in a heavily wooded area in McCowan Park shortly before 10 a.m. on Monday.

The discovery of Singh’s body came two days after the father of one was reported missing by his family.

At the time, police said the death was suspicious but it has now been ruled a homicide following the completion of an autopsy on Tuesday afternoon"

"Detectives discovered that Singh was exchanging text messages with a friend throughout the evening on Thursday, May 21. The last message sent from his phone went out at approximately 1 a.m. ET on Friday, May 22.

Carbone says Singh frequented a strip mall on Danforth Road near McCowan Park.
