''Police say they were notified of an online threat made against an unnamed Toronto school early Friday morning.

The man allegedly said in an online chat that he had a gun, was in Toronto, and planned to commit a shooting at a school on Friday.

Police say immediate steps were taken to ensure the safety of potentially targeted schools and officers started an investigation to identify and locate the man from the online chat.''

The Toronto Police Service is requesting this public's assistance identifying and locating a man wanted.

On Friday, October 16, 2020, shortly after midnight, the Toronto Police Service was notified of a threat made online to an unidentified school in the city of Toronto.

It is reported that:

- a man had been on an online chat with another man

- the man indicated he was in Toronto

- the man was in possession of a firearm and stated his intention to commit a shooting at an unnamed school on Friday, October 16, 2020

Immediate steps were taken to ensure the safety of potentially targeted schools and officers started an investigation into identifying and locating the man from the online chat.

Despite extensive investigative efforts, the man has not been identified.

As a result, officers are asking for the public's assistance with identifying and locating the man.

An image from the online chat is being released at this time.

While this remains an uncorroborated threat, the Toronto Police Service continues to take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of schools and students.

If this man is seen, please call 9-1-1 immediately.''

''On Tuesday, October 20, 2020, the Toronto Police Service executed a Criminal Code search warrant in the Hamilton area.

Tygar Allen Campbell, 28, of Hamilton, was arrested and charged with:

1. Uttering Threats
2. Hoax Regarding Terrorist Activity
3. Fail to Comply with Release Order
4. Fail Comply with Probation Order
5. Use of Imitation Firearm during Commission of an Indictable Offence
6. Possession of a Weapon
7. Two counts of Possession of Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order

He is scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, 10 a.m., room 101.''
