U.S. Consulate shooting in Toronto being investigated as ‘national security incident’

Police say they will investigate any possible terrorism links as they search for two suspects who fired shots at the U.S. Consulate in Toronto early Tuesday morning.

'Investigators say shots were fired at the building, located near University Avenue and Queen Street West, at around 5:30 a.m.

No injuries have been reported and police have not provided any information on possible suspects.

Southbound University Avenue is closed between Queen and Dundas streets for the police investigation.'

NEW: Toronto Police Service says it is looking for this vehicle in connection with an incident this morning when two men allegedly exited the vehicle and fire multiple rounds into the U.S. Consulate in that city. There were no reported injuries.

Canadian police are investigating reports of two individuals driving up to the U.S. consulate in Toronto overnight and firing shots at the building. Police confirmed to CP24 that the vehicle, a white Honda CR-V, which they said had been stolen before the shooting, was recovered in an undisclosed location in Toronto hours after the incident on University Avenue.

However, the two suspects remain at large. No descriptions have been released.'
